A number of students have recently heard of plans to shorten the breaks from school. One rumor was that Spring Break would be shortened to only four days. It was also said that Winter Break would not start until December 23 and that school would run from mid-August to June.

I have just confirmed this via the JeffCO Public Schools website. The calendar for the 2005-2006 school year shows school starting August 22, Winter Break from December 23 to January 5, Spring Break from March 20-24 and school to end June 1. The breaks haven't been shortened by much, but they do seem to be cutting back. School has never started so late and has never ended so late.

As can be expected, many are distressed at this news. If you want to try to keep your spring break, please enter your name, age, location (ex: Lakewood, Golden, etc), school (or if you're a parent what school your child goes to), and a valid email address. I stress that there needs to be a valid email address. An email will be sent to the email given to validate your signature.
