Starbucks has included the orginal "Train Station" Starbucks in their closure list. Although the official closing date has not been announced, it could be closed any time between August and March of 2009.
Rather than close the newer, "McStarbucks" on Center Street, Starbucks has chosen to close what has to be one of the most unique locations it has. The old train station location is spacious, airy, and welcoming. My kids have enjoyed the passing trains and great Starbucks staff for years.
Mr. Shultz, please be advised that I will NEVER spend a dollar at the Center Street location, nor any other Starbucks for that matter. There is a Peets Coffee and Tea location in Newton Center as well, and they will be getting my daily business going forward if you proceed with this closing.
Please sign this petition and let Mr. Shultz know that closing the train station location is not in the best interest of Newton or Starbucks.

Update: Just to clarify - since I wrote this very late at night - I personally will not support Starbucks going forward if this location is closed. The rest of the folks signing are doing so primarily to support keeping the store open. They all are welcome to embellish in their signature!
