The redevelopment of the lands along the hudson River is underway. At present, the model being used is intensive luxury housing instead of public recreation and open space. In many places, publicly owned land is being sold to private developers, forclosing the possibility of increased public access and the local economic benefits that would accrue from increased tourism.

We demand that no public waterfront land be sold for private use and that there be a moratorium on all proposals for private housing along the waterfront.

I'm rather sick of seeing a bunch of construction of condos and huge houses which only adds to pollution and whatever. Plus it's a complete waste because nobody actually buys them.

When all the waterfront is gone, it ruins the environment and no one can then enjoy it. I support this petition.

As a native of New York, I support this petition and plead with the "powers that be" to protect The Hudson River waterfront for public land use and access to rivers, beaches and streams, as well as environmental protection and responsibility.

No public land should be used to provide profits for private developers. "They" are not making any more riverfront property. Let's save what we have.

It is criminal to give public lands to developers to make money. We must not let it happen. Power to the people.

Everyone should be able to access rivers, beaches and streams. And this needs to be allowed in as environmentally responsible a way as possible. Intensive private development is not that way!
