Last week, I had a small, 10-point paper due on "The Great Gatsby". I did my paper, to the best of my abilities, but my printer was not working that particular evening. So i sent it to myself via e-mail. I walk into class the next day, and ask my teacher if I can print it off. He answered "No". Needless to say, i was rather annoyed.

However, I quickly forgot about it until this week, my last week before spring break, and the week of parent-teacher conferences. My parents found out about my misfortune, and decided to ground me over it.

I explained to them that all I had to do for full credit was turn it in, and my teacher would not allow me to do that. They understood that and felt my pain, but I am still grounded.

I explained to them that I had done all I could to get it there, and that I did not think my teacher would not let me print it off. They undersood that, and felt my pain, but I am still grounded.

I explained that my girlfriend is going away for spring break, and I will not get to see her on her last day in town. They understood that. They felt my pain. But I am still grounded.


I can see no real reason why I should be grounded, at least no reason for me to be forced to stand up my girlfriend. I hope that this petition will help to change my parents' minds.
