Save The Bluefin Tuna
Published July 17, 2009
Sign this petition to help save the Atlantic Bluefin Tuna from collapsing as a species. This petition will be sent to the United States' National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration headquarters, and addressed to Jane Lubchenco, the Administrator of NOAA and Under Secretary Of Commerce.

Here's how you can help: On July 16, 2009 two major superpowers (France and United Kingdom) joined the country of Monaco and publicly announced their support to place the Atlantic Bluefin Tuna on an internationally recognized endangered species list. If the Atlantic Bluefin Tuna is voted into protection it will be a major step in helping to stop the illegal and overfishing practices as any international trading of bluefin will be banned within 60 days of the voting.

So your signature will help the United States in two ways;
1.) Show our political leaders that we the American consumer care about the future of the mighty Atlantic Bluefin tuna and are not willing to let the species collapse on our watch.

2.) Show our political leaders that the people of our great nation support the United States in joining France, Monaco and the UK to list the Atlantic Bluefin Tuna as endangered.
