I support this petition. The move to another day made it difficult to find and having the election so long was tedious--I WANT MY WEST WING TO STAY. I was looking forward to the election being over so the personalities could mesh. I will miss Leo greatly. How to continue without him though? Have Santo's ask his opponant to be his vice-president. Would love to see this continue in this light. Wouldn't ever miss a show. My children have learned from this show. I have learned from this show. DO NOT GO AWAY!

I support this petition. This is the only drama worth watching on TV. I am so sick of crime investigations and survivor shows that I only watch West Wing, Commander in Chief, Jeopardy, and news shows. None of the rest can grab my attention, much less keep it. I don't like to watch something when I can predict the ending. I like the way West Wing mirrors current political issues.

uplifts the public dialogue and inspires debates on morals that are absent in our rela leaders, yet approaches the issues of the day with reality. It is an education for many, a refreshing oasis for some of us and whatever the economic obstacles it presents, it is worth maintaining. I and many others are heartsick. You have been contributing to the national dialogue and remind people what could be. Whether people could pay to watch or the actors could take less, or NBC could write off the loss against some of the airhead shows that are more profitable today, keeping this show on the air is a civic duty! Please reconsider the cancellation. There is no other program that I and many like me watch any more

This show should continue. It is the best drama and comedy on tv and has been since it started. It's had a couple of low patches but even then it still outclassed its rivals. It's now back on top form and should go on into Santos' White House. Have you seen Commander in Chief? - watch it if you've forgotton how good TWW really is and it will remind you!

In addition to being the best show on TV, The West Wing consistently draws viewers representing the highest income levels in the county, isn't that compelling enough to keep it on the air?

I support this petition. In an age of reality and autoposy led television, a well constructed, exceptionally well written drama is a rare thing indeed. This show is on the cusp of a rebirth, with endless possibilities. When networks take swing after swing at finding the next big hit, why walk away from an established viewing fanbase? I sincerely hope NBC reconsiders.

For years TWW has been one of, if not THE best written and produced shows on television. Even in the last few seasons, when the quality has dropped off a bit and it was relegated to Sunday night Siberia, apparently to die, it still towers above almost every other show. It seems that there are just too many loose ends to tie up in the few remaining episodes and too many story opportunities for the new characters to just let it end where it is. I support this petition to keep TWW on the air, if for no other reason than to provide an intelligent alternative to our current real West Wing.

I support this petition. This is the only show on network tv that I make a point of watching. It has a great new energy within the new storyline and this show was not given a chance to reconnect with its audience base after being dumped into its Sunday night slot after years on Wednesday at 9PM. This is a premature move by NBC.

I support this petition. Some mistakes were made with the show at the beginning, but a little tweaking could have fixed those. I feel like we have had a kick in the stomach with actually losing John Spencer and then just killing off a successful, decent, brainy show. I love Martin Sheen, Alan Alda and Richard Schiff. Why can't NBC have some faith in the intelligence of its viewers?

I support this petition. The West Wing is the only t.v. show that I faithfully watch. The other two NBC shows that I liked in the past have been E.R. and Law & Order. I presently like them a lot less. Maybe, NBC could cancel one of the Law & Order series or E.R. to get a better time slot for West Wing?

I support this petition. Since its a Warner Brothers Show AND the set stays with the Office of the President (and is built)let the show L-I-V-E. If NBC wants to cut it there can be new life on CW< the new parnership between WB and CBS owned UPN. It's a natural and it stands to capture some of the Gilmore Girls/Smallville audience which would give new life. SAVE THE WEST WING

I support this petition. NBC is in freefall. Cancelling their best written, acted and produced show in their lineup is proof positive that NBC is going down the drain. ABC's dumbed down version scared someone into sending WW to it's currant Sunday night exile. Wake up and put some support back into the show.

I support this petition. Why do networks switch shows around in a schedule and then act all surprised when ratings flounder? Why do they think everyone loves "reality" shows? Which, by the way have no basis in reality. Please save this show! It's intelligent and entertaining - what a concept!
#553

Diane Frank said 04/05/06, 2:51 pm (verified)
I support this petition. Jimmy Smitts and Terri Polo make an intelligent and hot couple. If he wins, this show should absolutely continue. They will bring a younger demographic to the show and think of the wonderful story lines there can be revolving around the first Latino president who struggles to balance the demands of his new office with the needs of his young family. The fans of this series deserve at least one more season of this special show. WE WILL WATCH!!

I find it strange that NBC chooses to cancel this show at this time. Jimmy Smits, Alan Alda & now Rob Lowe returning this season revitalizes this series for a few more seasons. A Latino President (not to mention Smit's track record on prime time, i.e. LA Law/NYPD Blue),or a Republican administration (or Alan Alda returning as the Santos administration foil). NBC is short changing viewers who made this show a hit for several years & showing a lack of loyalty at the same time to these same viewers.

As an inhabitant of the United Kingdom, it has always been of amusement and interest how America holds on to its peculiar institutions and customs, as we hold on to ours. The west wing has been by far the greatest and palletable education, to a wide audience, the UK public could hope to receive about American politics - and with a glorious slant of idealism and hope that is so dramatically lacking from the reality. It is such a compelling programme, and if public will alone could sustain it, it would last for many more series.

K. Edmonson said 04/03/06, 3:06 am (verified)
Sunday night is the only night NBC appears to have it together and I cannot believe they will cancel the West Wing. I have been an avid fan since it's first airing. The prospect, initially, or 'saying goodbye' to the Bartlett Administration and all the individuals we have become so involved with was at first seen as 'the end'. But the extremely creative writing this season has me, along with many other viewers, invested in the 'election' - Jimmy Smits and Alan Alda have put in outstanding performances. I would ask NBC to reconsider and give the 'new administration' at least one season. With all of the mediocre shows NBC is currently airing, I honestly don't see how another year of West Wing could be a mistake!
