There is an apparent problem with lack of a crosswalk directly in front of Thurgood Marshall elementary school. The way that the school sits right on the curve of a hill makes for a potentially bad situation. There are two crosswalks now but they sit at the bottom and top of the hill, but majority of parents try and drop their kids off in front of the school, right on the bend. The other issue that I feel ties right into this is the lack of street parking for the parents of this school. There is a section on street parking directly to the right as you exit the school that is currently 'No Parking Anytime' which causes parents to drive further up the street and turn around where they then try and let there children out in front of the school, across the street, with no crosswalk. Now, there is a circle drive-about on the school grounds but, it too is either full of other parents, (circle drive can only hold 8 cars at a time) or completely blocked by the big yellow school buses which must also be there. That 'No Parking' area needs to be a School Zone area where parking is only permitted for pick-up and drop-off between certain school hours.
