Please help us to get some real justice. In 2003 Scott Hillis of Rockford, Illinois was arrested on several charges against a child. While in jail they charged him with another child abduction. I am working with Scott and his attorney to get a new trial. Below is a small summary as to what happened. In 2002, a 5 year old girl was abducted and for over a year no one was ever arrested. In 2003, a 7 year old girl was abducted and molested and they picked up Scott on these charges. While in jail they charged him with the 2002 abduction and in both cases the descriptions the child gave do not fit his description. In December 2004, Scott was convicted of aggravated kidnapping and given 15 years. He doesn't have any previous criminal history as an adult and one small infraction when he was a juvenile.In the 2002 trial the child who is now 7 years old first said that Mr. Hillis wasn't the man who stole her until she looked at her mother who was looking at the defendant, Mr. Hillis. I was sitting next to the mother and saw the looks.Her sister who was 4 years older when it happened even told the police and court that she could not id the defendant as the man who stole her sister. The jury convicted him. Now through intensive investigation, there are other descriptions that were given but the police never seemd to show the other people his picture and his attorney didn't seem to think it was necesary to challenge them or even bring them up. Now as of March 21, 2005, Mr.Hillis will be tried on 3 more counts. In this case the description doesnt fit either and they are relying on a description of a 7 year old child and her baby sitter who is a known drug addict currently attending drug court.The description of the suspect fits several other people including some previously convicted child offenders.
