Paris Hilton is no different than any other citizen. Therefore, she must serve the allotted jail time. You mention other high profile 'celebrities' who have committed the same crime; however, they were not incarcerated. This is just an example of the inequality expressed by the justice system, and Paris Hilton just happens to be experiencing what the majority of citizens would otherwise face. If she wants to be a role model to the the 'mundane' people of the world, than she should have refrained from drunk driving, and not try to rely on her 'celebrity' status as a get-out-of-jail free card. Paris Hilton must serve her 45-days in jail.
No one is above the law, and certainly a girl who became famous for no good reason. She's rich and does nothing but flaunt her status and illegal activities to the world. It's about time she had to pay her dues. I personally think her sentence should be longer, there is no excuse to drive drunk and she certainly has shown no respect for the probation terms she was to be adhering to.
The only thing sad about Paris Hilton going to jail is that it can't be for 90 days instead of 45 days. How cruel and unjust would her punishment be if she would have crashed into an innocent family, killing or maiming them?! What a useless human being..
No one is above the law. Her sentence has nothing to do with any other aspect of her life other than she broke the law and for that she should be punished in an egalitarian society. having said that I also disagree with the bad taste entertainment she offers and I wish I could do without having to see her on my TV ever again
Paris Hilton should go to jail, just like the rest of us would had we violated probation. The main difference is that she wasn't being monitored by a probation officer to be sure that she 1. paid her fines 2. enrolled in the required alcohol related offense classes. What were her excuses for not abiding by these stipulations of her probation? Those things are enough reason to revoke probation for anyone else and we KNOW she has the money to AT LEAST have had the fines paid! Give this woman a taste of what the world is like for the rest of us if we don't obey the law! This sentence is NOT unjust and the rest of the celebrity world should also have to comply with the same rule we as a society abide by!

Paris Hilton REALLY does think she is above the law. She has ALREADY been given enough chances to mend her ways. The best thing that could happen to her is a little jail time, to truly appreciate the consequences of her actions. Maybe then, her total disregard of our laws would change. when I heard about the petition to pardon Paris, I knew someone would make a counter petition. Paris embodies everything that is going wrong with America. Uphold the ruling and make an example of her. If you let her off, you pretty much say if you are rich and famous, you are above the law.

One of her boyfriends went on Howard Stern a while back, before Paris was busted, and said she constantly hounded him to let her drive, even though she knew her license was suspended. Put her spoiled, pampered ass in jail please. If it was any one of us in the REAL world, we would be in jail in a flash for driving with a suspended license.

I had a dui, I paid court cost, and I did screw up again, and guess what? I went to jail. I didn’t whine or cry. If I didn’t get off the hook nether would Ms. Paris whatever Hilton.
