Paris Hilton is not above the law and it is not fair that because she is wealthy, she gets preferential treatment. If it were anybody else, let's say a poor person or a person of color, this would NOT even be a question. The person would be punished according to the law, no questions asked. What kind of message and example does this send out to people of celebrity status?? That they can get away with crimes simply because they can afford to buy their freedom?? Celebrities are humans too. Strip away all of the glamour, the fame, and the money and they are just like you and I - so PLEASE punish Paris for her offense just like you would do so to anybody else. She does not deserve to be let off easily, because clearly this is telling her that she can do anything she wants and get away with it. Additionally, Paris doesn't even have a defense argument because she CLEARLY does not do anything positive for society besides partying, drinking and shopping - Oh and let's not forget the infamous sex tape. If she at least did something beneficial, then MAYBE she might have some sort of defense, but as of right now she has nothing, so let justice be served and make her serve her FULL 45 day sentence.
