Please restore our faith in the elections and our government. Like Jesse Jackson said, we can deal with losing an election, but we can not deal with fraud and stealing. Until this is sorted out, please do not sign George Bush in. If you decide to remain complacent with this, despite all the evidence and testimonials, millions of americans may have lost their voice (or millions of make-believe americans somehow acquired an overpowering voice). We're counting on you. Please do this country and our democracy this service, as my faith (and many others) will be restored to know that you are not ignoring this.
#196

Jonathan Robbins said 12/22/04, 8:11 pm (verified)
Voting is one of our only truly democratic rights left and it is being systematically taken from us. Please stop this before it becomes the norm and government becomes a complete joke.
#195

Marlene Aderman said 12/22/04, 8:02 pm (verified)
There can be no democracy in this country if our elections are subject to tampering. You must exert you authority to demand that the results not be certified until we are sure that the election process has been fairly carried out. We allowed the theft of our 2000 election and the country has suffered grievously. Not one senator showed the courage to support the Congressmen and women who opposed certification. Please stand up for an honest count even if the results prove to endorse Pres. Bush's election. We will never know if Kerry really won if you do not halt the certification process until it is checked. This effects the election of every official who runs for office. If are votes are to count, they must be honestly counted.

Please stand up for the rights of all citizens for this most basic of democratic principles. We depend on you to ensure faith that every vote is counted. Allowing the mounting evidence to go unheeded that this has been disrupted, and for this to blend in the consciousness of peoples minds and hearts with the questions never fully put to rest of the prior presidential election, would inevitably further cynicism and hopelessness already so rampant. If the Ukraine can face such a thing, we most certainly can. For you to stand up now and against the pressures to simply abdicate is to show true faith in the people, and dedication to serving those who elect you.

I have simply read and heard enough from enough credible sources to believe this warrants some investigating. Even if it does not change the election outcome, as a matter of principle, we as Americans need to make certain that every vote does indeed count.

I read Robert Byrd's book, Losing America, and it is imperative that the United States Congress assert it's authority and power as one of the three governing branches of government. The Legislative branch represents the people and democracy is at risk. The register of complaints, anomalies and justified suspicions has become enormous and warrants both a full scale investigation and delay of the certification of this election. It is time for principled and bold Senators to act as none did in 2000. There is no more time for more failures of conscience and will. The people of the United States WILL support your efforts to stand up for a free, fair and honest election in the U.S. We urge you to be courageous by taking leadership and refusing to certify the results of the presidential election of 2004. Sincerely, Maryon Attwood, Chaplin, CT

The exit polls show there was fraud. A Florida Congressman hired a programmer to write software to rig votes. Computers were tampered with and recount staff were given the totals to report. Public documents were taken from recount volunteers. These are just the tips of the iceberg! Bush did not win Ohio or Florida.

And a John Dean - is it really true that a perosn who falsified computer records or programs so they'd give Bush more Ohio votes has signed an affidavit to that effect. If so, take him to the steps of the Capitol Building and hold a press conference. Come on guys (and gals), show some spunk

There is substantial, significant evidence of fraud and vote suppression that justifies this extraordinary request. This is about the very essence of what this country is about and the destiny of all humankind for all the rest of history that there will ever be is hanging in the balance. Please challenge the certification of the electoral votes from Ohio until there has been an adequate, complete investigation by Congress as a whole.
