As a citizen of Ohio and Chairman of the Libertarian Party of Northeast Ohio, I believe that next to protecting the life, liberty and property of citizens, there is no more important function of a representative self-government than to have honest, open elections.
Please do the right thing and don't certify the election. Listen to all the complaints of fraud in every state, but especially Ohio and Florida. Don't wait until it is too late to admit the truth....Bush only won by fraud. How dare we talk about fair elections in the Ukraine or Iraq or anywhere else when we don't have fair elections in America.
Please, please, won't at least one of you stand up for all of us THIS TIME ??

The failure of even One Senator to sign a protest of the 2000 Florida results brought shame to this prestigious institution. Please join your colleagues in the House to demand a full Ohio count and exposure
If a democrat senator doesn't challenge the Ohio vote, I will register in the Green Party...the end of the Democratic party after 45 years of voting age, not to mention my parents and grandparent...time for you guys to get some guts!!!
I can live with losing fair and square, but I can't live with a stolen election. I want my daughter to grow up in a real democracy. Stand up for her rights and stand with your colleagues in the House of Representatives who are challenging the theft of our democracy.
We must all take a stand to stop the Republican conspiracy to steal the last two elections thru voting machine manipulation voter fraud. Such blatant conflicts of interest as the Secretary of State in Ohio also being the head of the Bush Campaign there is obscene, as was the Florida Secretary of State in 2000. We need truly fair elections. This last one wasn't, and it should not be certified!

If representatives from the house judiciary committee find sufficient reasons to contest the certification of this election, I urge you to stand along with them. Democracy 101 - Count every vote, make sure every vote counts = Voting integrity. These are the basic principles in a democracy. We need election reform NOW!!!

No vote is safe in this country until serious changes are made with the election process. It is highly disturbing to hear of the thousands and thousands of voting problems that have occured during the presidential election. The evidence of voter fraud and disenfranchised voters is now overwhelming. It is time for you to investigate these crimes against the people. No vote will ever be safe until private corporations are not in charge and have the monopoly of our voting systems.
The paperless touch screen voting system is totally beyond comprehension. Where is the security in that sort of system. We get a receipt for a cup of coffee or a bag of doughnuts, yet there is no paper evidence connected to our precious vote!
It is time to STOP election fraud now! It is time for you to look out for the best interest of the people so that WE THE PEOPLE can be assured that our votes are safe and are being rightfully processed and counted.

The evidence of voter suppression alone cost Kerry the election and appears to be systematic and national. The many "anomalies" suggest deliberate vote manipulation and must be investigated. You need to prove that this election was conducted honestly to preserve the legitimacy of elected office in the US, yours included.
Please vote not to certify the election results. Reelection of George Bush will ensure the lives of another 100,000 will be lost. Certifying is like creating another Tsunami.
When, at best, voters no longer trust the voting system or when, at worst, there is credible evidence of widespread voter fraud, democracy is at risk. When democracy is at risk in our country it is at stake across the globe. Please reverse the 2000/2004 trend by contesting the election and taking a crucial step to repair a system that is undeniably broken.
In a close election, all it takes is Florida and Ohio to win. The results in these states are compromised because of partisan officials who determined who and how people in Democratic districts voted. The acts of so-called election officials in these states (and possibly) others is in violation of the Voting Rights Act. Vote into a blackbox machine and expect that your vote will be attributed correctly? Of course, Diebold ATMs have receipts. We need verifiable voting. Also, what happened to 58,000 absentee ballots in Broward County. The Post Office rarely loses any mail? The recount in Ohio was a sham. Why can't we have fair elections in which votes count and can be accurately recounted?
I am deeply concerned with the results of our 2004 Presidential election. The amount of information that I have read leads me to believe that this election must be investigated. I request that this election not be certified.

You cannot doubt the importance of your actions at this time.
If our bravest and most progressive senators will not stand up for democracy, what chance does democracy have?
Specifically, I urge you to:
* acknowledge - and support publicly - the ongoing investigations into possible fraud in Ohio
* condemn systematic Republican efforts to obstruct those investigations
* insist publicly that no election - overseas or at home - is "over" while valid claims of fraud remain unresolved, and
* lead your Senate and House colleagues in a formal challenge to Ohio's Electors on January 6.
Over the last two elections I have been left wondering of the overwhelming influence of "Big Money" have eliminated our two party system in lieu of a "corpocracy". Please prove me wrong by taking a bold stand to correct the perception that we have a government of, by and for corporate profits. Challenge this election! This is a defining moment for the Democractic Party. Don't remain on the sidelines.
Democracy is more than a word to be used as an excuse for war. If democracy is to be a real and meaningful concept then it has to be fair and based on an open and accountable process. There were enough irregularities in this election to make me seriously question its outcome. We can't turn the process over to any group of thieves who are audacious and resourceful enough to subvert the process. Please follow your conscience and vote to refuse to certify the 2004 election.
In Ukraine, they called for a re-vote. In Washington state, the Republican candidate is calling for a re-vote. But our own Democratic party is eerily silent despite flagrant misuse of power and interference with free access to fair elections on the part of the Ohio secretary of state. Despite other abuses around the country. Despite voting machines that are inauditable and provide no possibility of a meaningful recount. Please stand up for so many Americans who are distraught at the undermining of our precious right to vote. On January 6th, please exercise your conscience and help draw media attention to this wholly unacceptable situation.
I ur4ge all Senators to be brave, take back your power -- sign the petition. Let the process work to expose the wrong doing that has again tainted our election process.
