History will show the avarice and fraud of the republicans. They will also show those who refused to stand up for democracy. It will also show heroes. Where will your name be?
Congratulations, Barbara Boxer!
History will record all this very differently than our corporate-corrupted media.
Maybe enough of our politicians will care more about their posterity than their posteriors.
This so called "Election" was a disgrace. The investigation and prosecution of Blackwell must continue for his Suppression of the Vote and his obstruction of the Recount/Audit and defiance of a subpoena by saying his position as Secretary of State of Ohio along with Co-chair to elect bush places him above the law.
Blackwell must also be legally compelled to answer the House Judiciary Committees 15 page Dec. 2, 2004 letter with very pertinent questions about Blackwell's role in cheating Ohio voters who pay his salary through every form of dirty trick and illegal activity imaginable to elect bush and disallow votes for Sen. Kerry.
If you let these election frauds pass without scrutiny, then democracy is at risk. In democratic systems each vote counts and should be counted. Learn a lesson from the Ukrainians; if they can do it, Americans should do it too. The election should not be certified because it is rigged and it’s your duty to make sure that justice should succeed.
YOU MUST PROTEST THE CERTIFICATION OF THE FRAUDULENT 2004 ELECTION!!!
Dear Senators,
Today, January 6th, is our last chance in the foreseeable future to stand for the democratic process, a process which did not fully occur on election day. How ironic, how tragic, that our young men and women are dying and being maimed for the cause of democracy elsewhere which we ourselves do not protect at home. Will YOU be one of the courageous and patriotic Senators standing up on the Senate floor and protesting the certification of the 2004 election?
Four years ago, when no one Senator stood with the Congressional Black Caucus to protest the certification of the 2000 election, I cried. I still cry about it. Not because my candidate didn't become the President (though he won). I cried because it was just another banal piece of political business in D.C., and why would I think that anyone would risk their career to support the disenfranchised voters of Florida? And I wondered then and still do now: should we lifelong progressives continue to support the Democratic party, when the Senators whom we choose to represent us won't do the right thing? But today - is there any possibility I could finally dry my eyes? Might there be at least ONE Senator that isn't a deal-maker or a coward about something so crucial to the health and well-being of our democracy - saying that our votes matter?
We all know it. There was fraud in the 2004 election. Voters in Democratic strongholds of Ohio had to put up with deliberate misinformation, lack of machines, many hours of lines, voter intimidation, voter suppression, problems with provisional voting, a partisan Secretary of State not unlike Katherine Harris, and of course the disturbing, creepy, skewed results from the Diebold machines (offered by the man who had the temerity to promise Ohio to Bush). For those of you who have a seat at the table of power, it should embarrass you beyond belief. It should enrage you. It sh
What is America if we allow election fraud? How do we teach the next generation to be involved if they don't believe it matters in the end? How can we ever expect to regain our reputation with other Nations if we continue to foster one policy here in America and a counter policy elsewhere?
Let's take the difficult path and do the right thing.
Make history. Show the world we are equal to the Ukraine. Stand with the democratic representatives and demand a congressional investigation of the massive disenfranchisement in Ohio and nationally. The media is silent our representatives cannot be. Please be our voices.
if the dmeocratic proces sis to be respected and honored, not perverted, then this petition has great merit. Even in the Ukraine avote was challenged, and reversed.
the electronic voting systems without a paper trail must not be allowed again, and should not have been allowed in 2004. The states must be pressured to replace them with a recountable system.
I believe the evidence is credible, and that this trend has accelerated from 2000, to 2002, and now the 2004 election cycle. Without strong appropriate action, our democracy is on a very slippery slope to distruction.

Exit polls are proven science and clearly show that Kerry won the election, whereas machine counting does not prove that Bush won.We have replaced honest Americans,Republican and Democrat, who amicably sat across from one another and counted votes, with single party corporations, veiled in secrecy, who tell you who won the election.
A hand recount of only 3% of the vote, followed by a machine recount employs the corrupt machine recount data t o prove legitimacy and is not valid because it includes 97% of the corrupt data.
This is a well hidden national scandal.
I urge you NOT to certify the election on January 6th due to significant evidence of voting irregularities. The lifeblood of our democracy -- every citizen's right to vote -- is at stake. Please stand up and do the right thing.
Just as in November 2004 when Bush Administration Urged Ukraine Not to Certify Their Disputed Presidential Election ... our Congress should take his advice and do the SAME!
How in what is supposed to be the MOST advanced and democratic nation in the world do people wait on line for hours to VOTE.....
Many working class Americas had to chose between the right to vote and losing their jobs.. or leaving their children unattended.
This MESS needs to be Fixed.....the Politicians pledged to fix voting issues after the 2000 election this time we need to make them understand this is unacceptable. If we can not run Free and Uncorrupt elections where everyone has the opportunity to vote, how is the world to believe we can teach others?
I urge Congress to NOT certify the election…… Make the American Public understand that the folks in DC still care about EVERY Americans right to vote!
First they stole the Black vote, and I didn't speak up, because I wasn't Black. Then they stole the youth vote, and I didn't speak up, because I wasn't young. Then they stole the seniors' vote, and I didn't speak up, because I not yet old. Then they stole my vote, and by that time there was no one left in office to speak up for me.
Senator, you shouldn't need polls or petitions to tell you the difference between right and wrong; you shouldn't need polls or petitions to know what to do today: a conscience -- or your oath of office! -- should suffice for that.
Today, you will leave the Senate chambers having proved to the world that democracy in America is dead -- or that it isn't. Your choice, and your legacy.
I urge you NOT to certify the election on January 6th due to significant evidence of voting irregularities in Ohio and other states. The lifeblood of our democracy -- every citizen's right to vote -- is at stake. Please stand up and do the right thing.
When the electors meet to cast their votes on the sixth of January, several members of the House have already agreed to object to including the votes of the Ohio electors. In order for this objection to be heard, I am asking you to join them.
I am deeply troubled by the voting irregularities in Ohio (as well as elsewhere). There is now ample evidence in Ohio of: voter suppression in minority districts, voting machine error (including machines "de-faulting" to Bush when they had not been re-calibrated in a timely manner), erroneous "lock-downs", provisional ballots not being counted, and also significant evidence of the possibility of actual fraud and illegal re-count activities.
The most basic principle of modern democracy is the right to vote and the right to have that vote counted.
Please help to encourage a strong and vibrant democracy, and return voting rights to all Americans by joining your colleagues in the House and objecting to counting the Ohio electors, so that a real debate about these serious concerns can take place.
Very Respectfully,
We need to send a message to this administration that they DO NOT have a clear mandate---widespread reports of errors in electronic voting machines raise my suspicions that this was not a free, fair and honesst election. And why is Florida always so late with final results when it is on the East coast--very suspicious?
We need a serious investigation into what happened in Ohio on Election Night 2004. Our democracy hangs in the balance. Will you do what is right? Stand with the House Democrats and fight for our republic!
I see that my senator,
Senator Boxer, is receiving this. It is
not just conspiracy theory. There has been wide-spread mal-treatment of minority voters to deter them from voting. Also, I read on one website that someone has come forward to verify that the computer company that was responsible for the voting in Ohio rigged the vote. All the allegations need to be taken up. Please speak up.
I have been following this issue closely, with deepening alarm at the threat to fundamental processes of American democracy. I consider this petition to be very carefully drafted, and urge you to support Rep. Conyers on January 6.
I am very concerned about the way the 2000 and 2004 elections came out. We should investigate the charges of fraud in Ohoi and other states. There is a huge cloud over this so called election. Make every vote count. Stand up and fight Please.
We need at least one senator -- ideally, more than one! -- to join with the courageous leaders from the House of Representatives who recognize the need to investigate these most serious allegations that have arisen in regard to the electoral process in the 2004 presidential elections, especially in Ohio.
Please demonstrate your leadership by requiring the Congress -- and the national media! -- to focus attention on the disputed voting process ... and thereby begin the process of correcting it!
Is this a partisan effort, or the ends of your politcal careers for standing up? Not a chance! This is the foundation of our country at stake, with or without this election. Stand tall together and gain our respect back! Standing up will begin the dialogue we so desperately need.
Please DO NOT certify the 2005 electors for Ohio, until an investigation into the lawfulness of that state's election process has been fully investigated.
Regards, Mac McKeel
