Senators Kennedy & Obama, you above all must do the right thing, and refuse to certify this election. You Senator Kennedy to protect the legacy of you and your family. And you Senator Obama, to protect your political future as well as all of ours.
Senator John McCain, the people of Arizona and many people across the country respect you. Please use your consistently good sense of judgement to review the voting irregularities and take a stand!
Think about this... if the tables were turned and Bush had won the exit polls but had lost the election, you know that there would be lots of Republican senators screaming fraud. Please take a stand and join the House Representatives in contesting this vote.
It is ironic and revealing that Republicans are trumpeting the need for a revote in the Ukraine based on exit polling being inconsistent with the vote tally, yet take the opposite side when the same thing happens in their own country.
We are counting on you to do something about this. Sen. Kennedy, you have nothing to lose by standing up for this cause--we love you in MA and will not turn against you.
we need election reform and focusing on the multitude of problems in the recent election is a good way to start. Please join with members of the House to contest the 2004 election then work on reform.
When the head of the company chosen to manufacture our nation's electronic voting machines (Diebold) publicly stated earlier this year that he would do "everything in his power" to help George W. Bush win the election in his home state (Ohio), I could not believe that our nation permitted this obviously partisan and likely politically connected company to keep the contract, enabling them to tamper at their whim with the outcome of Democracy and our entire nations future from the inside.
It's no surprise that it was that very state in which the election returns were the most of all allegedly fraudulent, and the outcome was never certain.
It's likely that this and other forms of partisan corruption of the election process may have affected results nationwide, and therefore this years election should not be certified.
Whether impartial and unbiased recounts show that Bush won this one legitimately or not, let's hope for future administrations in which such blatant cronyism and corruption would no longer be allowed or tolerated within the Democratic process.
I have no confidence in an electoral system installed and monitored by those who stole the 2000 election, especially electronic machines with no paper trail.
The essence of our democratic system requires that all votes be properly counted. Please do not vote to certify the 2004 election results until they are.
Dear Senators --
As a True act of Patriotism, to save the lives of as-yet-uncounted and unreported innocents (our troops and Theirs, our civilians and Theirs) -- in an attempt to reclaim the very basics of our Democracy befre they are lost for generations -- PLEASE, I beg you, do NOT certify this election and crown an idealogue as Presient of this great nation without a full investigation of voting.
MUST we BEG and PLEAD you to DO THE JOB we HIRED you to do? To REPRESENT US. How many e-mails, petitions and official complaints must we sign before you finally act on our behalf? Please, DO NOT CERTIFY this election!
If you are concerned about the fate of our voting system ,please do not hesitate to act in the way your conscience dicatates.
A huge number of American citizens are behind you.
(So is the truth).
I was very disappointed that NOT ONE Senator in 2000 supported the House Democrats' request to investigate the Florida debacle. If our own representatives will not fight for democracy, can we keep it for long?
At the very least, the results of the election should be carefully evaluated by an objective committee to attempt to ansxer the most obvious malfunctions reported.
What moved me was the sworn testimony of a programmer before the Conyers panel who said he had designed vote counting software that produced any desired result, at the request of a high Florida Republican official/legislator. Also the tampering with results in Ohio by representatives of the software company.
I respectfully urge you, as our representatives in the federal government, to take this action. We elected you to help preserve our Constitutional rights. We need you now. Thank you.
This is bigger than Watergate. The media then, however, were not trying to cover up the truth. Exit poll data alone (the data that was NOT MANIPULATED) should be enough to get this election overturned. Our democracy is no longer a democracy if the will of the people is no longer counted and is replaced by the will of Bush, his cronies, and his friends who do the vote counting!! I cannot believe that this happening in my beloved country. If the Democrats refuse to stand up for democracy, then what do we really have left?
I believe the election was manipulated and the outcome would have probably been different if it had been held according to the same standards we expect of other nations. The majority of U.S. citizens are unaware as to the extent of the manipulation involved, because the media has been playing it down. Attention needs to be brought to the matter, changes need to be made, and for this we need your help.
