Please take a stand and vote against certifying the 2004 Presidential Election results until the questions/evidence found by Rep. Conyers Committee can be fully investigated and accounted for. We need to set an "Example" for the
rest of the world! Thank you for your time and Happy Holidays. RIK
Those who endeavor to subvert our fundamental democratic process are practicing the worst kind of Machiavellian politics: the ends justify the means. Winning is the only thing that matters to them. If we are ever going to get back to what this country is supposed to stand for, they must be stopped and our elections need to be conducted fairly.
Please do not certify the vote. Unfortunately, I live in Kentucky, and undoubtedly, our senators-McConnell, who is doing anything to get ahead, will sign the vote, and Bunning, who probably has no idea what the hell is going on will just do whatever McConnell tells him to do. Please help us in Kentucky, no one else here will.
An excerpt from a well written letter: The bottom line is that if the Senate certifies the vote in their
upcoming joint session, then they deny the citizens of our country the
right to free and fair elections. Without free and fair elections, we
mock the very precepts upon which our nation was founded.
By accepting corrupt results, we accept corrupt government.
By accepting corrupt government, we abdicate our role as Leader of the
Free World and denounce our own democracy.
I fear that if you (we) do not speak out now we will have the rest of our lives to regret not doing the right thing. I'm usually not a political, but there are too many questions....going unanswered.
This is fight for the civil rights of all American citizens, including African Americans, who have been disproportionally impacted by the events in Ohio during the presidential election.
I am 58 years old. I have voted in every election that I was eligible and am thinking of not voting in the next presidential election because I think it doesn't matter anymore. How sad for this country.
Our voting process doesn't meet international standards of fairness and transparency. It's time for a thorough investigation before the results are certified
In a democracy it is mandatory that every vote counts. Some observers from Europe were dismayed to see the disenfranchisement of voters in this country.
You have a responsibility not only to your constituents but to the oath of office you took to uphold the principles of the U.S. Constitution. The time to fulfill that promise is now.
I believe there was a wide variety of dirty tricks employed to disenfranchise voters. Any opportunity to stop this greedy brutish administration must be seized.
The mistake was made in 2000. It should not be repeated now. If the 2004 non-vote is allowed to stand it will assure that there will never be another real election in the US. The last was in 1996.
Please help restore voter's faith in our system. Let our elections be fair and transparent. How can we endorse democracy in other countries when we cannot even have faith in our own?
My daughter, Jeannine witnessed the recount in Clermont and know in addition to stated problems, ballots were not secured at the county BOE, ballots were lost, scanners malfunctioned and many employess had access to lballot box keys.
America's elections should be absolutely without any doubt whatsoever. Our elections are without ANY credibility and "the buck stops with you all" to start making serious changes in the election fiasco in this country.
The respect of the electorate for the election process depends on your being counted in the effort to ensure true democracy.
Please stand in objection to the counting of the vote in Ohio.
Have more courage than you did in the stolen 2000 election. Refuse to certify the vote, no matter how many chairmanships they try to bribe you with.
An angry citizen
Senator Kennedy - please step forward on this issue. It is a fight and a position congruent with all the wonderful work you have done throughout the years. You have always been a champion of the people, and we need you to step forward now to challenge this travesty.
Senators, This issue of the election fraud is the most important issue to come before you and the Nation as a whole. I no longer feel that I live in a democracy and will continue to hold this belief unless you, our representatives and senators vote to have a complete re-vote since there was so much fraud and violation that left no trace of the how the voters cast their votes.
I heard over KVMR, Northern California that Senator Boxer has refused to fight for us. For the rest of the senators names in letter, please listen to your hearts and represent the people honestly. We are otherwise going to be destroyed, unless it is too late, as a democractic country.
The American people have the right to know whether we live in a domocratic nation or a Republican dictatorship....prove to us we still have a democracy..fight for it! We are, Senators and Congressmen should be leading the way, not cowering in the back!!
I've read miles of text since November 2 and somewhere in there two senators were asked why they did not join the representives when only one senator was needed to stop the 2000 "election" certification.
Their answer (in unison) was "No one asked me." Senator Beiden was one of the senators and senator Kerry was the other.
While I do not know if the quote was accurate, none of the senators being petitioned can make that statement.
Please use your positions of privilege in the United States Senate to draw attention to the myriad flaws in this election, and to ensure that we do indeed have the right to vote and to have our votes counted. The implications of another uncontested election theft are horrifying and heartbreaking.
When NPR announced Kerry's concession of the election at approximately 11:15am the day after the election, the first call that came in was from an "angry non-voter" from New Hampshire stating that THIS is the reason he does not vote! What reason does he have to participate in our democratic process where all votes are not even counted before an outcome is determined and for a system where democracy is being destroyed in the election process!
The future of our democratic process is at state and with the recent turnaround of the Washington State governor's election, we need to take a much closer look at Ohio.
I find it "unbelievable" that the media/press has given no notice/attention to the fact of the lack of sufficient amounts of voting machines (esp in the democratic areas) that deterred many people from being able to participate in the elections---how many people CAN wait 4,6 and 8+ hours to vote???? It is inconceivable to think that "everyone" had the time to do this, and that number combined with the other atrocites in Ohio, could make up that 1% that could sway the election in the other direction.
The statistical analysis done at the exit polls has historically always been accurate and it is amazing that ONLY in this election has the outcome been different and in all the swing states and ALL in Bush's favor.
We need to closely examine the results of this election and Ohio, esp, needs to concede to a full recount/audit of the election to ensure that we do indeed inaugurate the correct president.
Senator Kennedy, I urge you especially to stand up for democracy and ask you not to certify this election till we ensure we have the correct tabulations for Ohio. I hope you will continue the tradition that your family and yourself have demonstrated to our country to contest this outrage to ensure our democratic process.
Thank you!
