San Diego, CA -- March 31, 2007 -- "Sony Online Entertainment's public liaison and producer Lorin Jameson today announces that an agreement has been reached with Senior Producer Brian Lowe at LucasArts. Up for discussion was the future of Star Wars Galaxies and how this MMORPG would develop further over the course of 2007. As to previously the reassignment of Julio Torres and Grant McDaniel, respectively assigned to Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Brian Lowe agreed to the adaptation of the Star Wars Galaxies universe in order to effectively improve the game it's playerbase. In order to achieve such improvements the game will undergo several server refits to ensure the playerbase on each server will increase in size to prevent the playerbase on each separate server from shrinking. Many current ingame cities, referred to as 'ghost towns' will soon face repopulation as a number of servers will be closed down in order to bring the playerbase of several servers together.

Lorin Jameson -- Public Liaison / SOE Producer: "By overpopulating excistent servers players will have the opportunity to make new friends, recreate their characters and to explore different servers which each have their own guilds to acquaintance with. Players who will see their servers closed do not have to mourn. They will be allowed to receive a 9 charges respec device to try out each profession on the server. On top of all they will receive half the credits saved on their deleted character on the newly created character on a server of choice. As a bonus these new characters will receive double experience for a lifetime so that higher levels can be secured faster. We have however chosen to not permit character transfers in order to preserve the economy on other servers. I'm looking very forward to seeing players meeting new players and sharing their love for Star Wars Galaxies together."

The servers to be removed are USA-Ahazi, USA-Bloodfin, Europe-Chimaera, USA-Chilastra, USA-Corantis, Europe-Farstar, USA-Intrepid, USA-Kauri, USA-Lowca, USA-Radiant, USA-Tarquinas and USA-Valcyn. Players will be able to substitute their character with a respec device and half the sum of credits they lost on their initial server. The closing of said servers will commence on April 21 this month."
