cheeeerleaders work just as hard as football players do. go ahead, attend a practice at LEAST two days a week for 2 hours. go to extra practices on saturdays for 2 HOURS. and go to the competitions almost every weekend in whatever city, state, country the coaches chose. oh yeah, and have to get along with each and everyone of your teammates even if you hate them. THEN, WHEN YOUR FINISHED WITH [ JUST THAT 2 WEEK PERIOD] AND TELL ME CHEERLEADING ISNT A SPORT. because get it straight, i have to deal with it all YEAR. COMPETITIVE CHEER IS A SPORT(:

i have many reason on how cheering isn't a sport. first off what is the point i dont want to hear competitive bullshit... it isnt not even classified as a sport in the sports book noone ever sees anything on cheering. cheering is a dance form that is final no oposing team now remember dont bring the whole competitive shit to here.... well anyway what makes cheering for a team a sport? and what makes doing mounts and stuff like the sporty? and besides all sports are in the NSA national sports association. cheering is listed in dance books it is not a sport remeber dance with chanting. ok next part not many oposing teams their isnt no speacial even on TV you see all the time like most common sports so if u think jumping around doing mounts screaming and doing stunts is a sport you are completely wrong

now school cheerleading isnt a sport they just try to make football and basket ball teams look good but it really dosent you just go to the try outs do a cheer and your in just be peppy and your in .not in competitve its totaly diffrent you do a whole routine and then do gymnastics and then if your really good at what you do you gat to stay untill next tryouts and then try out again competitive cheerleading is a sport and those of you that say it isnt your wrong because in my state it is a sport

I believe that cheerleading is a sport because it does reguire hard work. It is hard because you have to beable to do those stunts and do the jumps that cheerleading reguires. I am a former cheerleader and i believe that cheerleading is just like any other sport, because it reguires athletic ability and it takes deadacation to persue the SPORT!

I play basketball and I think Cheering is a sport! even if they do a cartwheel or that thing were they do a split in the air its still hard work! When kody put that gymnastics is a sport well its just like cheering! Cheering is just as much a sport then anything else! If they go rah rah let them the guys at our game were cheering for us! When people say that cheering is not a sport then thats like saying dancing and gymnastics aren't either! At my school we have been talking and having debates about whether cheering is a sport or not! Quite a few people say it is but others say its not! Cheering is a sport within a sport!!!!!

Cheerleading is a sport. I no a lot of you dont think it is and blah blah. But have you ever been on a competitive cheerleading team? id say most of you have not. If you have and still think its not a sport your team probally sucked and didnt practice and condition as much as most do. Besides all that according to the dicitionary cheerleading fits every aspect of the defination!

Cheerleading Is a Sport! I May Be From The UK, and though we aint as cheer-orientated as some Parts of America Are (Or Most Parts) We sure As Heck have a cheerleading Squad, myself being the cpatain, and it's the best squad in The UK! And Guess What, Our School And every School in The UK has classed cheerleading as a sport, and it will be foreve rin my eyes and the rest of us british cheerleaders!

I'm a competitive cheerleader and i have been cheering about 7 years now and for any of you guys to tell me its not a sport then your full of it because you dont know what we do at practice! We condition as much or even more than most sports. We run(at leats my team does) as much as our football players. You only get to see us at games doing stupid cheers! That's not evben what competitive cheerleading is about.It's about compeeteing agaist other teams! competitve cheerleading is a sport in many.MANY ways!

cheerleading is a sport at my school we have more practice then our football team and our gilrs basketball team does and hey all get more respect them we do and work work tons harder then alot of sports in my school does and we so compete and ou coach makes us go to gymnastics every night and + we have reg practice 3 days a week + games two days a week so dont anyone on this stupid site tell me that cheerleaidng isnt a sport bc it is i would love to see half of u lazy ppl take awalk in a cheerleaders shoes for one day u would freakin last soo yall need to shut urmouth and i have it how we all are steriotypic like all cheerleaders are suppose to be dumb blondes who dont know anything about real lifde well it isnt true and i am a blonde and i may not be the smartest but there are some other giels on my cheerleadin tem whoare like4.0 students and they are blondes as well so do sit there and say that we arent a sport im sure we do more stuf then fottball players and basketball and all th egirls sports as well

all of yall who say cheerleading isnt a sport is full of it. i would like to see any of yall go out there and even attempt half the stuff we do! bet you couldnt, come to one practice with us and lets see how long you last! but nobody really knows what us cheerleaders go through to be the best!

cheerleading is a sport. or competitive cheerleading is as least. there are ALOT of physical demands, there are winners and losers (like in football, baseball, ect.), and it requires team effort. what makes a sport a sport? it cant be the ball because wrestling is considered a sport and i DONT see a ball involved! cheerleading IS a sport in many ways. maybe not football cheerleading, but competitive cheerleading IS!
