Free the 5 - This Ruling Government should hang their heads in shame, selling off state natural resources to multinationals by corrupt politicians, helping to endager life in Rossport and putting 5 innocent men behind bars - shameful
Boycott all Statoil and Shell products and in the next election use your vote properly to send home a message
people have a right to worry about the enviroment and their homes and families and the right to protest against big companys infringing these rights. free the 5
The five men in prison are heroes - Irishmen of whom we can be proud. But indeed we hang our heads in shame before the world at the corruption of our Government, who have betrayed the trust put in them to promote democracy
and defend the resources and the human rights of its citizens. Is this what the Celtic Tiger has done to Ireland? By what value system do we live, or do such "details" matter any more to our elected representatives? They do matter to most of us.
Shell are Vandals. They help run a corrupt government in Nigeria for the exploitation of it's resources. They would stamp over anyone for profits. Ballymoney said no to Lignite. Mayo say no Gas. Shame on the courts for jailing these men and not letting them have the right to say no.
Mo Chairde,
Ireland and its surrounding seas belong to the Irish and to no one else. Our property and national possessions are not for sale or lease. Go mess up the English Channel.
It is a basic human right that those who are affected by the results of a decision have a right to participate in making that decision.
The people who are impacted by Shell's pipeline deserved to be at the table having input, not put in jail for taking the only option left them by the company.
I heard about the pipeline and read that people are in jail because they refuse to give Shell acces to there land. To me these people are heroes. They diserve a statue, resisting this wicked multninational, nat prison. I will be sure to inform as many Dutch ppl that i can. Shame on you Ireland!

The Judge refused to open the book of evidence in Podger V Minister of Agriculture in 2001
when action was sought to send the Minister to jail for contempt. Why did'nt he refuse to open it against Rossport 5 ? OR Are there DOUBLE Standards?
Hope it can be of use to you.
The people of Ireland and the needs and wishes of the people should be supported by the government and the resources of ireland used for the benefit of the irish nation. Free the 5!
It seems to me that a Giant like Shell should be putting first the safety of the local residents rather than trying to boost their ? falling ? profits by bulldozing their way into this project.
