There is still a lot of great music nowadays but you have to search for it. Good music is always being created.

music today is terrible. rap hip hop and pop suck, and this is coming from a teenager. classic rock from the 60s and 70s (and some 80s) is the only real music. its incredible. and Music Nazi i agree with you except the part that young people only listen to rap or emo, because in my case and all of my friends cases this is not true. i think 60s and 70s classic rock is THE best. its the only music i listen to besides some 80s stuff, specifically U2.

I agree with Joel. All music made after our generation is shit because young people listen to it and younf It is impossible for any new music to be good nowadays because if it is good, we will conclude it to be shit because it is new and therefore automatically bollocks because young people listen to it. Have you ever seen anyone under 21 listening to Led Zeppelin or The Beatles. No, young people ONLY listen to either rap or emo. I know this because my generation was the best and I want people to know I am superior to them because my musicial tastes have been scientifically proven to be better. Our music has withstood the test of time. Only time will tell which music will be remembered as the classics. Since some bands from the 1970s have stood this test. Lots of idiots who at the time hated those bands who claim to love them so that they seem knowledgable. Trust me, I know people like that. Jimi Hendrix only had one 'hit'. In his day he wasn't popular but he has stood the test of time but he has always had a following. Looking only at the top 40 WILL give you only shit music because now the evil music companies know that by dumbing it down, it lowers the consumers expections. I know this because I am the director of Interscope Records.

Personally, I think all music made after the 1970's should never be listened to. Before then, songs actually meant something. Now, songs are about Drugs, Sex and things that basically make no sense at all. 50 Cent sings about sex, drugs, guns, cars and black people. Anyone who listens to the music genres you have shown, are complete babbling idiots that only listen to it because their friends do and so on.
