Recently Tom Cruise has been yammering on about subjects that do not concern him and that he knows nothing about. Even daring to pass opinions on womens health issues such as post natal depression.

He has cast aspersions on his former friend Brooke Shields for her choice in medications to handle her "baby blues" and has even resorted to taking cheap shots at her career in the process.

This petition is for everyone who wants to not only support Brooke Shields in standing up to this intellectual midget but also to tell Tom Cruise to just SHUT UP!

Tom Cruise must be one of the biggest idiots to say that he knows the history of psychiatry yet doesn't realize that he follows a religion created by some sociopath who said that if someone wanted to make some money, they should start a religion. Scientology's bogus. Medicine can't help people, yet Scientology miraculously "cured" Tom Cruise of dyslexia. Since when has he been this brainwashed?

Celene, you are an ignorant, uneducated moron. Try that crap your selling with a schizophrenic who is fully psychotic-why don't you give them a fucking vitamin pill and see how it goes. I work with these people, and some people need these medications, or they live in psychotic states permanently. Some of the people this has happened to in scientology have died. Get YOUR facts straight. I work in this field and see devastating effects from untreated psychiatric illness. And Tom, STFU you ignorant little cult loving, can't admit your gay, manic depressive man...

Meghan, you should read up on your 'Facts' more...“Tom Cruise’s remarks on NBC’s Today Show represent a growing public awareness about the national crisis of children and adults being prescribed mind-altering drugs,” it said, going on to back up specific points made by Cruise: “There’s no biological imbalance,” it quotes a medical expert as saying. “When people come to me and they say, ‘I have a biochemical imbalance,’ I say, ‘Show me your lab tests.’ There are no lab tests. So what’s the biochemical imbalance?” Do not confuse MEDICAL problems such as Altzheimers, Parkinsons, etc with MENTAL issues, the differences are VAST. Here's the difference. You CAN show me a lab report that someone has Altzheimers (medical) but you can't show me a lab report showing me that someone has Schizophrenia (mental), that's the point Tom Cruise was making. Anyone with a shred of common sense knows that it is patently ridiculous to believe that a "disease' of our thoughts and our emotions (Complete Intangibles) could be measured by our blood (Tangible), what a crock. You people will believe anything that is dished out to you!

I have lost all respect for Tom Cruise. Psychiatry saves lives....pseudoscience does not!

I propose a class action lawsuit, against mr know-it-all cruise, signed by every single person in the universe, who has ever had any kind of dibilatating disease that comes under the listing of psychiatic care, doctors, nurses, therapists, socialworkers and anyone else (family and friends) who is personally involved with, or related to mental health. let's stack up the signatures against the vitamen and excercise theory, and see who wins! I think it is safe to say that Mr. Cruise has never been a woman and has never suffered from PPD and that he is the last person in the world that I would think of as being an expert in anything, other than acting totally irrational, not to mention a bit...strange? While I have never suffered from PPD I have suffered with depression for over four years. While I would like to say that I was able to handle this all on my own, without any medication, I can't. I can say that if it were not for medication and the help of a caring doctor, I would not be here today. I think Mr. Cruise should try to concentrate on his own personal life, and not someone elses. Maybe (and this is a very big maybe) if he does indeed marry his latest "great love" he will actually be able to make the marriage last for more than a few years.

Tom, oh Tom. I almost dislike you enough to wish the worst panic attack on you. I wonder how you would feel about medication then? Poor Katie, or any other person in your life. God forbid they should suffer depression or panic attacks and need medication.

Tom Cruise owes the public an apology as well as to Brooke Shields AND Matt Lauer. Never before has a "celebrity" taken such liberties with his public image and status. His "career" deserves to take a nose-dive if he doesn't show more compassion and donate money to a mental health foundation and/or clinics. His comments are unfounded and downright insulting to any person working in the Social Services field, Mental Health field, any nurse working around the elderly and physically and mentally disabled, and especially FAMILIES with loved ones suffering from any such illness. Some medications he mentioned are recalled and are abused, but the Journals of Medicine that reach the physicians' offices very frequently keep up with latest news, so Tom Cruise is negligent in thinking that physicians are "purposefully " continuing to keep children on medications as if it were a conspiracy with the pharmaceutical companies. That is illegal. Plus, insurance companies are making it harder and harder to purchase prescription meds, what insurance will and will not cover in a policy, so this gives more proof to the fact that a physician must really warrant the need for a child to be on a strong drug such as Ritalin or Adderall. Tom Cruise should try talking to a medical student or physician in practice. Scientology claims are downward flaky with their opinion against psychiatry and the mental well-being of so many individuals in our society. He should be ashamed of himself. Plus, I believe it is a factual statement that physicians seeing patients will review ON EVERY OFFICE VISIT medications their patients are taking and why, for how long, the dosage needed or not needed, and if there is a future need for the medication. Serotonin and dopamine are chemicals in the brain (schizophrenia, bipolar, Alzheimer's, etc), so this is a CHEMICAL IMBALANCE and a disease of

Tom, you should stick to reading from script and chorographing your relationships with the media. And, shut the hell up when it comes to things that your pea sized brain can't process. Retreat somewhere with your cult of self serving gods and practice some voodoo medicine to chase away your evil spirits!

So, any medicine that deals with any other organ is "science," but if it deals with the brain, unless it involves "auditing" and "engrams," is automatically a "pseudo-scien ce," and its practicioners are "Nazi-like." Uh huh. Ritalin is a street drug? Well, so are pain killers and many other common prescription drugs. That automatically means it's not useful?? And people should take advice about the effectiveness of drugs used to treat hyperactivity from a guy jumping up and down on a sofa? Uh, Tom? Just. Shut. Up.
