I support this petition. Please do NOT cancel Simply Quilts. Quilting is a skill that is important to the very fabric of our nation. Quilts have been used to help guide slaves to freedom, a quilt block has flown into space with an astronaut, used to help rehabilitate prisoners and the abused,and have comforted the sick, homeless, and frightened. This is a skill that needs to be preserved. As the fabric of our nation is being tested, quilting has so much more to offer than just a "craft" item that the recipient feels obligated to say "oh how pretty" and then prays that they never have to be seen in public with. WHAT WERE YOU THINKING???

I, too, am a daily viewer of Simply Quilts. SQ with Alex Anderson is the MOST informative quilting program and the only one in my area. She is a dynamic person who clearly loves what she is doing, which is teaching quilting and its history.
First her twice daily show was reduced to once a day and now you are cancelling it! HORRORS!! What will I and the thousands of quilters who view her programs and learn from them, do?

I support this petition. Simply Quilts is the only real draw to HGTV. I usually watch the program that is on before it as well as the few after it. Without Simply Quilts, I doubt I'll watch HGTV at all.
