It has remained current in its effort to educate quilters across the nation about traditional quilting as it successfully introduces new trends. It is THE quilting show to watch; anyone who quilts knows (and quotes) 'Simply Quilts' and Alex Anderson. Please reconsider your decision to stop producion of new 'Simply Quilts' shows.
I support this petition. When this show was cut from 2 to 1 a weekday, it was missed by many comembers in the 4 quilt guilds I belong to to. Alot of them are older and retired and look forward to this show everyday. I work and cannot watch it everyday but I do like to watch it on my day off.

Quilting is a multi-billion-dollar-a-ye ar business. Why would HGTV want to lose viewers with that much purchasing power? Furthermore, Simply Quilts is the only HGTV program that I watch, now that Gardener's Journal has either also been discontinued or moved to a time slot when I cannot see it. If Simply Quilts is discontinued, I will simply skip over HGTV when I look for an interesting program. I do not think that you know what a fine job Alex does of covering all of the topics that the simple term "quilting" covers. The program is a jewel which should be kept.
I love HGTV and watch it daily. And when I can't watch live, I tape so I can watch later. Please don't cancel Simply Quilts..I consider it an educational resource which I can afford in a life which doesn't allow time to go to formal classes. In fact, I wish you could add another show of this kind.

Decisions such as cancelling 'Simply Quilts' suggest the decision-makers are out of touch with a very, very large segment of the viewing audience--a segment which has dollars to spend (are you listening, advertisers?). I was disappointed at the disappearance of Lynette Jennings' talent- studded and visually-rich show in the past and replacement with inferior 'entertainment' disguised as information. We could not care less about the ramblings of wannabe hosts who, on-air, run on at the mouth, boringly, and can not even speak grammatically, and whose artistic talent is questionable, at the least. Can there not be SOME exceptions to this sudden race to the bottom to lie there with the 'reality' shows and other useless fare? I try to tape and watch 'Simply Quilts' every day. It is one of very, very few programs I do. Please re-think your decision and try to give thought to the fact that in the potential audience of millions, your fare should showcase a lot of variety in its offerings. No, not everyone enjoys quilting--just as not everyone enjoys sports--but there are legions who do--and a hugh market therein. HGTV used to be one of the very best channels of all but, sadly, has been devolving into just another spot to surf by. Was bonafide research done to find out what the actual/potential audience is, or was it determined by a group who has never engaged in any of the creative arts? The latter could only give a false reading. Objections such as mine should make you pause in the downhill slide and consider whether you could still climb back up, close to the top of the hill of TV fare. We would all like to have you there.

Quilting is a large industry and there are millions of quilters not only in the US but all over the world. More shows should be added instead of cancelling one of the best.

I support this petition. I am not a gardner, not into home design, selling or buying real estate and yet this channel is frothed with shows that are of the same topic. There are many crafts which people do and so enjoy learning new ideas by watching shows such as this. It is a travesty that shows such as Simply Quilts are being discontinued. I would no longer watch the HGTV channel for lack of interest and watch the Public Broadcast Channel for quality entertainment. Maybe we should be contacting the companies which buy advertising time on HGTV and let them know that since we are losing a program we all love so much we no longer will need their products and support another channel that would pick up her show.

I support this petition. Of all the "how to" and informative shows on HGTV, this is the only one dedicated to quilting. Does HGTV not realize that quilters are a 14+ billion dollar industry and growing? Why do they want to alienate a substantial portion of us. However, "Simply Quilts" is the show I watch and record to be able to go back and learn everything I can from it. There really no other reason for me to watch this network. Please reconsider this decision. Quilters are big spenders not just on things for quilting but for everyday items like juice, cleaning supplies and the very things your advertisers promote and sell. Please give us this reason to watch your network. Keep "Simply Quilts" not only in reruns but in new shows as well.

The programming decision-makers would benefit from researching how many millions of dollars are spent by quilters for quilt related items. This is a huge industry with an AVID following.
