Simply Quilts has been a wonderful resource for quilters (and quilt lovers) who live in rural areas and small towns. There is no way I could ever have access to so many creative, talented teachers without watching Simply Quilts.
Please reconsider your decision not to offer new programs...I am not finished learning.
I support this petition. Simply Quilts is one of the few reasons remaining for my watching TV. It is laden with useful information, and is a quality viewing experience. In the past 2 years, HGTV's programming has added too many shows with more fluff than substance. Please return to being a quality network by keeping Simply Quilts and adding more programs with solid information. Thanks.
I support this petition. This is the best quilting show on television. Alex Anderson provides stimulating ideas for all quilters even those who are experienced. Please continue this program.
I support this petition. As the president of our quilt guild, i believe i can say that all our members would say, "Keep the show on the air!" It is very informative to both 'newbies' and 'veterans' and all those 'in-betweeners' in the quilting world. New techniques and tools are coming out every day and Alex's show is one place where we quilters learn about them. You may not know about the quilting world, but let me assure you, they know about the Simply Quilts show on your station and it would be a shame to cancel it.

I own a large quilt store in Maryland. We have a customer mailing list of more than 9500 active quilters -- I am quite sure that the vast majority of them watch Alex's show at least once a month and probably most of them daily.
I think it would be a serious economic mistake for you to discontinue new programs from
Alex. Her shows promote quilting and fabric arts nationwide. Quilters are dedicated and outspoken consumers and have considerable economic 'clout'. Reference the information collected by Quilts, Inc. as to the size and robust nature of the economic niche for quilting.
Please reconsider your decision!
I support this petition. I am the owner of a large quilt shop in Maryland. I have an active clientele of about 9500 people and I know that more than half of them watch Alex's show regularly. Quilters have quite a lot of purchasing power!
I think you would be making a serious economic mistake to cancel Alex's show -- the quilting community is a seriously dedicated and outspoken group of actively consuming women. (Reference the battle with the Smithsonian and imported quilts!)

I support this petition. I would never have started quilting 4 years ago if it weren't for Simply Quilts. Alex Anderson sparked that interest by making it seem easy enough for a beginner to start and now I enjoy it every morning before I go to work.
I support this petition. I think it would be a crime to dis****inue this program. Cant we continue to have wholesome family programs on TV or does the garbage continue to take over. Get it together people. We in the Quilting World could start looking else where for the type of showes we want to watch.

I turn my TV to HGTV every morning to watch Simply Quilts, and it stays on HGTV all day. Without Simply Quilts, I would have no reason to turn on HGTV and would probably discover a whole new world of television shows out there! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, do not take this show away!!!!

I support this petition. When I retired I wanted to learn to quilt, but could not find anyone close at the time to teach me. Alex and Simply Quilts did that. I especially loved the Shows with Billy Lauder and Mary Ellen Hopkins. For 8 years now I have watch the show almost everyday and sometime twice a day on HGTV at first and later on DIY. With out Simply Quilts I would have never bothered with those Channels. Most of the quilt shows on time are more informericals than quilt. Somethings do not interest me when they get to artie but other folks like that so I still watch and some times I even learn something new. I hope you plan to keep the show but if not will you sale DVD's?

I support this petition. This is my favorite show on HGTV. In fact, I was going to write and ask why there aren't MORE quilt shows on HGTV instead of the numerous home improvement shows. Alex is the reason I started quilted and I have made about 25 quilts in the last 3 1/2 years. Please don't take off the best quilt show on TV. I know numerous people who quilt, but I don't know that many who are continually renovating their house. Please keep Alex on the network. I buy a lot of the products that are mentioned on the show or shown on the Simply Quilts website. Quilting is a big business. Please reconsider.

I support this petition. I tape all the shows so I may watch them when I get home from work. It is the most talked about show in all quilting classes. You will be making a big mistake. It is one of the only shows I watch religiously on your station.

This show is such a wonderful program with not only sewing, quilting, and applique ideas, but decorative techniques for clothes, handbags, wall hangings, etc. Alex has such a wonderful variety of people showing so many different skills, HGTV would be losing a really well supported program.

Please do not cancel this show as it has inspired so many quilters and non-quilters to use this tradional hobby for making heirlooms for family, friends and community. It would be a huge disservice to your viewing public to discontinue this show.
I wholeheartedly support this petition. Alex Anderson's program is the reason I watch HGTV. Simply Quilts gets me up every morning at 5:30 a.m. Because of this program, I have also discovered "Room by Room" and "The Carol Duvall Show." You will lose many viewers if this program is cancelled... besides ruining my weekday mornings! Now I will simply sleep in and skip the television! Please let me know if these rumors are true... we are changing cable companies and one of my requirements is HGTV. If Simply Quilts is cancelled, then I don't care to watch your station any more!
I support this petition. Please do not drop Simply Quilts. I record every show and watch them in the evening. I am getting tired of all the remodeling, redecorating and etc. shows, but not Simply Quilts. In fact, I would enjoy more shows in quilting, sewing, embroidery, knitting and etc. I do not get DIY channel which has these. Please leave Simply Quilts on the air.
I support this petition. Please keep alex on the air teaching - she taught me to quilt 7+ years ago - and i know she taught many of my friends - she is gifted with teaching and it would be a mistake to remove her from hgtv!

I strongly support this petition. According to the most recent study regarding the "SIZE OF U.S. QUILTING MARKET":The market continues to grow with 15%(16.27 million) of U.S. households reporting quilting
participation. Total quilters in the U.S. now exceed 21 million, which represents a 50% increase from the 14 million quilters reported in 1997. With each quilter spending an average of $139.70,the estimated total dollar value of the quilting industry stands at $2.27 billion." I urge you to consider picking up another season of "Simply Quilts" - it is an HGTV premiere program, and there's nothing like it on any other network.
As a quilter and instructor, I support this petition. Simply Quilts is a great program for beginners and advanced quilters alike. With all of the other less appealing programs I would think that HGTV could find something else to ax.
