I support this petition. I have been an avid (read: obsessed) quilter for four years, and would NEVER have believed I could quilt until I started watching Simply Quilts at least 6 years ago. The art and craft of quilting has had a huge resurgence across the world, and to cut off its best promoter and teaching tool is absurd. It also ignores a huge demographic that has enormous buying power. HGTV seems to be catering to those who own homes almost exclusively with its new shows (as well trying to copy BBC series - with very poor results), and to take yet another craft show off its schedule will be a huge blow to much of HGTV's audience. Simply Quilts is like no other quilting show on television, as it is not a series with only one teacher, but an opportunity to learn from hundreds of teachers and see every kind of quilting - from the traditional to the art quilt. Without Simply Quilts America's quilters may never see the likes of Mary Ellen Hopkins, Ricky Tims, Ruth B McDowell, and all the other world-renowned quilters who are guests on Alex's show. According to the information I have received, Ms. Anderson has no desire to end the series, and until she does, or her audience wanes, HGTV should be excited and eager to provide such a quality series to the American public. Considering the show is only on cable television, your viewers are actually paying to see this show, and it would behoove you to listen to these same viewers when selecting which shows should be aired.

I support this petition. Alex Anderson is a wonderful quilt teacher and designer. With the resergence of quiltng as an art form in today's world, and HGTV in the forefront of reaching millions around the world in home decorating, Simply Quilts is a wonderful way to show quilting and how easy it is to do. And what a big part it is in home decorating. Not to mention a time honored craft worthy of all our attention.
So many of the DIY programs for needle and fabric arts have been removed from TV and sometimes they are the only teaching and learning source for many rural and shut in people.Please do not cancel this show.
I support this petition.There are lots more of us viewing HGTV that are not working any longer than the younger generation who are working and involved in other things. If you do not leave it on there will be no reason for many of us to watch your channel any longer. We have already decorated apartments and first houses. And while I am at it, I think your shows are getting too liberal. I hope this trend doesn't continue.
