Quilters are the Baby Boomer generation with the cash set aside to buy the products ofHGTV sponsors.
I have always believed that a painter can go to the mountains alone and paint a scene, but a quilter needs the inspiration of other quilters. Alex/Simply Quilts is our inspiration!
If you must cancel something - PLEASE consider the 99 shows a day of Carol Duvall showing the same old "crocheted toilet tissue covers", etc.. How many do you think we need for heaven's sake? Carol has got to be tired of it too. I know your audience is!
I know you're trying to appeal to the younger generation, but enough is enough! Do you think your sponsors really sell that much to the "tummy/tongue pierced generation"?
Quilting teaches: Math, Science, Geometry, Design, etc. It brings the traditions of yesterday into today's world with the techniques and tools of today!
If only you knew how many Home Economics/Math/Science Teachers taped your Simply Quilts Shows...to use as teaching tools in their classrooms!
I suggest the Executive that made this rash decision check with Northern Paper Products to really check out the buying power of quilters...A few years ago, Northern Toilet Tissue ran an ad on TV that showed women sitting around a quilt frame with knitting needles in hands, supposedly "quilting" their new "quilted Northern". Within a matter of hours, Northern found out the hard way the real buying power of quilters. They ran ads in every quilt-related magazine apologizing to quilters. They sent out coupons, gift certificates, etc.. Their ad was immediately corrected to show that Northern really understood what quilting was!

I support this petition. I recently signed up for upgraded cable just so that I could watch and enjoy Simply Quilts! In less than a month, I have learned so many great tips that I can't imagine not having this resource available to me and other quilters. I have gained confidence in the shared quilters knowledge and have tried new techniques as a result. HGTV is now part of my favorites online.

There are so few programs that really teach new techniques that can be applied to quilts and other crafts that it would be a sad day in quiltdom if this program was cancelled. I live in rural OK and don't have a way to attend workshops or get to quilt stores all the time so Alex keeps me up-to-date on new quilting projects. The few quilting shows that are available in my area are about machine quilting and not quilting projects I am interested in doing. Please reconsider your decision and keep Simply Quilts on your channel.
