I support this petition. Please continue this good quilting program. It is promoting and educating a large population of both new to very experienced quilters and is helping to educate people to the world of art quilts. We don't need more 'house decorating' shows!!
I am very disappointed that Simply Quilts is scheduled to be cancelled. I have learned more from this show then some of the classes I have taken at local quilt stores. It also is a way of seeing first hand new tecniques and I have gotten many ideas from watching. The past 2 years I have had to have major surgery and was not able to get out for months at a time--this show kept my interest in quilting going and I gained a lot of knowledge from watching Alex and her many guests. I am appalled to think this show would be cancelled.
I support this petition. This is one of the only shows I really enjoy watching on HGTV. There have been other sewing shows in the past years but they too were cancelled. I hated to see them go as well, but Simply Quilts was on at the time. Now there are no sewing or quilting shows for us to learn from. Please reconsider this decision. We need this program as well as other sewing programs. Simply Quilts is one of the best programs I watch and I don't understand why you feel you have to do this. Do you have no regard to what your viewers want to see?

When I was just starting to quilt I found this program. Simply quilts gave me inspiration and encouragement to learn this craft. It is the best quilting show on the air, filled with imaginative, creative and fun programing. I think it will be a real shame to bump it. Quilters all over America are shouting out "Do not cancel this show!!".
I support this petition. Why would you cancel a show that has a huge appeal? It keeps the quilting world (growing daily) informed with the newest techniques, fabrics, trends in quilting. Besides getting me up in the morning just so I can watch this show, it is how I learned to quilt!!!!! I watch all the repeats and learn something new each time, and eagerly await the new shows the learn the newest information. Don't cancel it, please!!!!!

If you need to cancel a show, let go of one of the decorating, home repair, gardening or cooking shows. Those are a dime a dozen.

I support this petition. My husband would be happy, since if it wasn't for Simply Quilts, my cable bill would cost less. Yes, we have the extras on our cable bill just so we can get Simply Quilts. This is a wonderful show and most all quilters across the nation are familiar with it and watch even if we have to get up so early in the morning. We need more sewing to encourage mothers to teach their daughters an art that this nation is quickly losing. Please reconsider discontinuing new programs of Simply Quilts.

I can't believe HGTV would cancel this show -- the only quilting show on TV, at least on the channels available in my area. I was actually hoping they'd start having more quilting & sewing related shows, not less! I watch the old episodes everyday on HGTV and DIY and so look forward to the few new episodes we've had this year. I'm also hoping to see the entire Simply Quilts series put out on DVD someday soon -- I know there are hundreds, if not thousands of quilters who would buy the whole series!
I support this petition. Simply Quilts is the only broadcasted show that is available to thousand of quilts all over the USA. It inspires and teaches quilters of all levels. I teach many of the methods that I have learned and can go back and review to new quilts. I am self taught with the help of Simply Quilts. This program is the only reason I watch HGTV. There is so much happening in the quilting world today that I would highly suggest to continue the show. Film new techniques and make the older shows available on CDs and VHS by seasons for sale. Once the season is put into production for sale stop viewing it on the show. It would be a hugh dishonor to the American Hertiage of quilt art to discountinue the show.

This is one of a very few programs that are worth investing time into. There is always good current information, and my local quilt shops benefit for I am always purchasing something after watching Alex's shows. How can you possibly think of taking off such a wonderful program. SHAME ON YOU. I will cancel my subscription to HGTV. Get rid of some of the worthless decorationg shows.

It was one thing when you stopped airing Sandra Betzina and other sewing shows ... but now the only quilting show I can view! How many home and garden decorating shows do you need that you can't continue to air ONE fabric art show. Alex Anderson is well respected and an inspiration to every level of quilter. Simply Quilts is my favorite program on HGTV. There are over 300 members of my quilt club, The Genesee Valley Quilt Club, who watch it daily! Many tape it to watch later when they can't be home at that time. Please continue to support the development of new shows, the introduction of new techniques, the prize winning quilts at annual shows, and the education of quilters on all levels.

There are quilters and quilt lovers all over America that love this show. Canceling this show and just showing re-runs would be a mistake. Clearly HGTV doesn't know that quilting is getting more popular all the time and the audience for this sort of program is too. Do quilters matter to HGTV? Looks like we don't; maybe a boycott of the network would make their advertisers notice us.
