I support this petition. Simply Quilts reaches a large number of audiences; quilters & non quilters. Quilters learn invaluable new techinqus & ideas. Non quilters may some day take the plunge (like I did a few months back) and happily find a new hobbie that they enjoy. Not continuing with Simply quilts is a big mistake. I feel sad for the people who will miss out on this wonderful hobbie.
Please keep Simply Quilts.

I watch this program every day!!! Quilting is fast becoming the #1 hobby in America, it should soon surpass scrapbooking! You may have a HGTV rebellion on your hands when you cancel "Simply Quilts" and will lose much of your audience for other programming!!! I know my tv will find it's way to other channels!!
I support this petition. Alex always has a variety of guests on giving everyone young, old, new or experienced new ideas. This has been my favorite quilt show to watch over the years.

I am surprised and saddened by the decision to cancel Simply Quilts. I have always regarded HGTV as a source for quality programming, fulfilling a wide variety of interests. Quilting is a $1 billion industry that continues to grow every year. Please reconsider your decision and promote the art of quilting to current and future generations.

Quilting is my primary hobby and I value the inspiration I gain from Alex Anderson's show. Quilting continues to grow in popularity so your potential audience is increasing each year. Quilters support both local and on-line vendors by purchasing machines, thread, fabric, notions, gadgets, and oh, did I mention, more fabric!
In addition to keeping Simply Quilts, you should be adding other quilt shows!

I support this petition.Removing this show would be a disgrace to the quilting world. I would rather watch this show (including reruns) then some of the ridicules cooking and home improvement shows which are all reruns as well. Evidently people who make decisions on the programing for this channel don't care what people really want to see. Cancel simply Quilts and watch your ratings drop on other programs as well. The quilting world will call for a boycott of all HGTVprogramming should you remove Simply Quilts

I agree that the cancellation of this program will be a huge lose of an invaluable tool, not only to the viewers who are faithful in watching, but for the quilt shop teachers (I included) that rely on this program for new ideas or to bring to light an idea that has been forgotten.
Your last year’s change in format, when you removed the mid-day slot was a huge disappointment to many, but to remove it totally will be a great lost to all quilters. I’m not sure that you realize but this program is probably the only program out there that really can say its demo reaches the 5-105 age group. My granddaughter would sit as a small toddler and watch, it got her interested enough that at the age of 5 she got her first sewing machine and completed her first lap quilt by age 6.
There are many many people out there that rely on this as their only source of quilt instruction, as they can’t get to a class or can’t afford a class, but need the additional help to overcome a certain challenge, it is the only link that some of these people have to the outside quilting world.
I’m not sure that I totally understand your reasoning for this move, but based solely because some one there may not like the programming isn’t reason enough to loose the audience that you will be. Not to mention the damage this will do to the sewing machine industry or the quilt book publishing companies….when we as quilters see something we like we have a tendency to run right out and get it, this market is a huge one so please reconsider your thoughts on this. There are new techniques that come out each month; there isn’t any reason for reruns in 2006.
I am not sure, but I think Simply Quilts may be the only, or one of very few, HGTV shows dedicated to quilting enthusiasts. Yet there are numerous shows supporting home improvement, gardening etc. If the cancellation is due to statistical data(i.e. number of viewers), then take into consideration the air time being a factor and air the show at a time when more quilters will be able to view. Please allow this show to continue. I support this petition.
I support this petition. I watch the show daily even though most of them are now re-runs. Other than one quilt show on the local PBS station, Simply Quilts is the ONLY quilt show on TV in my viewing area and quilting has gotten more popular over the past few years, this doesn't make sense. Please do not cancel this show. I'd rather see one of the many, many decroating shows go!
I support this petition. Removing this show will greatly reduce the amount of quilt related sales as I only hear of new books and ideas on SQ show. This show is the reason I asked for TVO for Christmas so that I would not miss any episode. I enjoy the repeats as well,you never know when inspiration will hit. PLEASE KEEP IT GOING!

I support this petition. I am a national teacher traveling "the circuit". I always get a warm response when I mention something I have learned on "Simply Quilts". I have known Alex since she was a young mother attending our guild. She is still the same person despite her fame and is the perfect hostess to such a variety of guests. Simply quilts does a good job of representing the many facets of quilting.
