As opponents of discrimination, we note that Northern vertebrates whose daily news outlet of choice is Slugger O'Toole, are being denied access to information about employment opportunities due to the British Government refusal to place recruitment advertising on this site.
This ban on recruitment advertising discriminates against the sensible community at a time when we are twice as likely to be underemployed as non-internet users.
This policy is in direct contravention of equality legislation and betrays the promise of a new era of fair play for all promised in the Good Friday Agreement.
We call on the British Government to ensure a level playing field for all by immediately placing recruitment advertising on Slugger O'Toole.

Slugger must be allowed to walk down the Queens (information super) highway with its head held high. Therefore it is vital that for parity of esteem Slugger O'Toole has these jobs advertised. Otherwise we will riot and burn cars and kill people and stuff. So there..

I agree, we need level playing fields. Everyone knows you can’t throw rocks at the peelers if you have to worry about twisting your angle on bad ground. I almost did in my ankle at the weekend. End this crimination now!

I strongly concur that Snickers should once more be known as Marathon bar. For too long we’ve had to suffer this oppressive name. For too long our childhood memories have been tainted with de-recognition. Power to the people!

I'm really sorry to have to break this to you guys, but Jonathan Powell has told me that you lot present no real threat to the State. This means you get ignored, not paid, you fools! ...unless Mick can hack my nce new defence supercomputers, in which case here's £26 million. Anyway, must dash - have to find something to bribe the UVF with.

As a gay man and a gay loyalist I know what it is like to suffer from discrimination due to nothing more than the colour of one's skin. In the spirit of my good friend Steve Biko I say 'no more'. No more will we be still while Slugger O'Toole readers are kept in the dark regarding government jobs. We must rise and throw off the shackles of this blatant attempt to keep the well educated readers of Slugger from rising to the top of the Northern Ireland Civil Service.

Slugger readers are being discriminated against by the government policy not to advertise on its pages. Slugger readers should refuse to accept second-class citizenship.

As a child and teenager growing up in Belfast {late 90's & 00's} I was unfortunate enough to face the thrice 'overt' tool of discrimination due to being a 'white middle class Protestant {Snabby Awrange ******* as it was put at that time, by aspects of the "community"}. Therefore as an adult I in my own small way have attempted to stand against Inequality, Discrimination, Racism, Sectarianism and many other forms of injustice. This, from whatever side, or from whatever quarter it comes from. Yet this 'policy' though, in relation to the Slugger O'Toole website is, I believe, a throw back to yesteryear. A situation from which many had thought and hoped we had begun to move on from. I would have thought that those of my generation and younger would not have had to witness such similar ‘overt discrimination’ arising once again. It seems to me, watching this situation unfold that we seem in some instances to be going backwards and not forwards. There are no ifs, or no buts about this situation, what is being done here is quite simply wrong and needs to be firmly challenged by all who stand against discrimination. There are enough spides in the civil service. Government jobs for 'snabby fawkers' NOW! (We can be lazy too!)
