Smoking is killing a lot of people around australia...not just those that smoke but those that get sick due to passive smoking.
Should smoking be made illegal?
Yes or No?
Thank you to those who sign, it will help me with my Legal Studies assignment...and possibly work towards the banning of smoking, or unbanning of smoking, depending on which way this goes.

I support this petition. I think that banning smoking will be the best thing that Australia will do in 20 years. I am doing a debate for my Live & Learn project and are agreeing with the statment. Poeple who smoke cigarettes are weak because they don't have the will power to quit. They know it's disgusting but pretend to like it so they don't have to give up.. I would like to meet the person who likes having yellow teeth and disgusting skin.

I'll tell you why pot, cocaine, heroin, magic mushrooms are illegal and smoking tobacco isn't. It's cause the gov't makes too much money from sales of cigarettes whereas they don't from other drugs. Come on gov't. Be consistant for once. Stop wasting tax payers money on quit smoking campains that don't work on smokers and get serious. Ban the sale of cigarettes and smoking and think about the health of your society not how much cash you have in your government back pocket.

Though I am against Smoking and can see so many bad things about it, if someone wants to smoke then as long as they're aware of what they're doing to thenselves then they have the right to choose for themselves... So no.
