So saying my smoke if affecting you is a non-issue. For two, do you know how many BILLIONS of dollars the government makes off the sale of cigarettes and taxing it???? They will NEVER get rid of something that brings in SO much money...ever. For three, I can't stop laughing at how people are saying things along the lines of "yeah, make it illegal, so people won't do it". Hey geniuses, look at all the other drugs that are illegal. Does that stop junkies from doing them? No. The same will happen with cigarettes. If you think people won't go to the ****ty side of town to get a pack of smokes if they are banned, like people do now for crack, then you're crazy. Also, people who hate tobacco companies for "killing people" are plain stupid. EVERYONE who smokes knows it's bad, it causes cancer, yada yada yada. Smokers who get cancer, then decide to sue tobacco companies are either A) psycho, or B) looking for some free money. Just like the lady who sued McDonalds because HER kid got fat from eating it all the time. Give me a break, she was a ****ty parent. It's obvious how "good" fast food is for you, and it has been for many years. People like her are looking for free money.

It's the number one causes of death and it is preventable if nobody was able to get cigarettes. I personally know how hard it is to quit but am now 4 years since last smoked. If the supply was taken away I would of been forced to quit. It was the hardest thing I've had to do in my life. I was so addicted since age 13 and both of my parents smoked as I was growing up. So many lives are ruined by someone else being able to make lots and lots of money as a result.

It is no longer a personal freedom then, since the smokers choice to smoke affects those around the smoker. In other words, your right to swing your fist ends where my face begins. I started smoking and I wish I never started. It is unacceptable for smoking to continue to be legal. At the very least, it should be taxed and regulated so much that the tax money could pay for any damages smoking causes society and individuals. This money could be put towards research for cures for lung cancer, etc.

Ok that one might have been stretching it, but my point is life would not be worth living if we didn't have freedom of choice. You should quit putting all of your energy towards forcing other people to change just because you think they should and focus on how you can improve your life. The current age to legally purchase cigarettes is 18, every year after raise the legal age by one year; making anyone 17 or younger never legal to buy and everyone that already smokes, happy.
