Special Needs children are mainstreamed into todays schools for the sole reason of inclusion.
This idea has no consideration of other children in the classroom or how this can affect the SEN child learning process.
A child with austism or other simalar needs cannot function or learn at the speed of the other children and can effect other childrens learning through bad behavoiur.
I AM NOT completely against mainstreaming of SEN children but there MUST be allowances that allow SEN children to receive support outside the classroom either with a leanrning support assistant (LSA) or other professional.
