i think squirrels should be legal pets. If someone trained them they would be easy to handle and you could get acorns for them to eat. Plus it would help squirrels from getting hit by cars. LET THE PEOPLE HAVE SQUIRRELS!!!!!!!!

I always wanted to have a squirrel but because of state laws, I can't and I think they will make great pets. I know of a few people who have squirrels that they are raising only to release later on (what a shame!). After being raised by humans in a house then releasing them back into the wild, is surely redundant because what is the sense of raising life then killing it by releasing it with no animal insticnts.

I'm all for this petition after raising and releasing my squirrels because of state law. I learned that squirrels can be trained and they do make great pets. This is for my love ones Bowie and Brandy.

I support this petition. I believe that people, responsible people who want to take care of an injured animal and are willing to take the proper advice from a professional should be able to. I have bunnies that I have raised, that were sick. Ofcourse they were from a pet store but they were going to be killed because they were sick. So why would taking care of a squirrel be any different? if you love and care for it.

I support this petition. Squirrels that cannot survive in the wild, are ejected from the nest, and/or injured should have the right to exist in loving homes. Animal Control services often lie to those finding squirrels and say that they will release them to the wild, when really they just euthanize them.

Squirrels should be legal as pets as long as the keeper is well-educated in squirrel care. I have a wonderful little squirrely-man, and I wouldn't trade him for anything! They can be loving pets as long as they are respected and handled correctly - the same as with all pets.

I am horrified that healthy squirrels are put down because they can't live in the wild when there are good homes that want them.I have a pet squirrel and I wouldn't trade him for anything. I live in a state where pet squirrels are legal. We took him away from a cat and we have had him since he was a pinkie.I take him to the vet like my dogs.
