Lors du salon français Micromania Game Show 2009, Yoshinori Ono, producteur de la série Street Fighter pour Capcom et monsieur Maho, employé de Capcom Europe, ont laissé entendre à plusieurs reprises leur intérêt pour l’Europe et pour la création d’un tournoi européen sur leur prochain titre, Super Street Fighter IV. La première version du jeu a en effet rencontré un très grand succès à travers l’Europe, et les équipes de Capcom ont ainsi décidé de nous réserver un véritable tournoi continental, à la manière de ceux organisés régulièrement aux États-Unis et au Japon.

Toute l’Europe est concernée, pas seulement la France, et cette pétition a pour but de recenser tous les joueurs intéressés par un tournoi sur Street Fighter IV. Que vous soyez joueur sur Xbox 360, sur PS3 ou sur PC, vous êtes concerné si vous souhaitez participer à un tournoi faisant s’opposer les meilleurs joueurs européens. Messieurs Ono et Maho ont laissé entendre que 500 à 1000 participants pourrait motiver Capcom à organiser un tel tournoi, il nous faut donc vos promesses de participation pour les transmettre ensuite à Capcom.

Une fois le nombre minimum atteint, nous transmettrons cela à l’éditeur afin de lui réclamer la création du fameux tournoi. C’est un moment historique, car cela serait le premier véritable tournoi officiel européen organisé par Capcom, à la manière de ce qu’ils font déjà ailleurs dans le monde.

During the french show Micromania Game Show, Yoshinori Ono, producer of the Street Fighter series, and mister Maho, employee at Capcom Europe, said several times that they would be interested in creating a European tournament for their next title: Super Street Fighter IV. The first version of the game was a great success through Europe, and Capcom teams decided to create for us an official continental tournament, like those frequently made in USA and Japan.

All Europe is concerned, not just France, and this petition’s goal is to list all players that are interested in a Street Fighter IV tournament. It doesn’t matter if you’re a Xbox 360 player, PS3 or PC player, you are concerned if you want to enter a tournament including best european players. Mister Ono and mister Maho also said that 500 to 1000 contestants would be enough to make them want to try to create the tournament. That’s why we need your promises that you will participate to this tournament so we can tell Capcom how many people are interested.

Once we have a good number of names, we will give the list to Capcom so we can claim our right to have a decent tournament in Europe. This is kind of a historical moment, because this would be the first time we have a real, official, tournament created by Capcom, like those create in others continents in the World.
