Yes I know this is a silly request and desire, however I find that I have been heavily impacted by the result of the Resident Evil: Code Veronica X game. Not the game in general, the death of young 17 year old Steve Burnside.

As I watched poor Steve die in the arms of Claire, the only love of his short life, I began to cry. Yes, I did in fact cry over a video game!
After playing the game and learning slowly more of Steve's past and then his growing passion for Claire, I utterly became attached to him. Along with my friends, we all faced the inevitable truth behind his death.

After he was injected with the T-veronica/T-Alexia virus, he mutated and began to attack Claire, who had no chance to defeat him even if she was capable of mentally convincing herself to kill her friend. As one of Alexia's tentacles entagled his beloved, he came to his senses and chopped it in half and in return the tentacle struck him with a fatal wound. As his body reject the mutation, Claire rushed up to him and sobbed and mourned his death,she listened to his very words that made my heart skip a beat.

"Claire I'm glad I met you.. I.. I love you." Claire never had the chance to tell Steve her identical love for him before he died right there after those very words. Wesker, whos first intention was to collect a sample of the virus Alexia held within her, gladly took Steve's body for samples instead. He toyed with Claire's emotions explaining to her that maybe one day she would see him alive again. Steve had troubles showing trust for other people, he never thought he could rely on anyone, until Claire, possibly her brother Chris too, came along.

My main point of this whole petition is to announce to capcom that even those most, may I state male, resident evil fans have such a unfair hatred of Steve, I would love for Steve to live. I don't care how it happens, as long as in the end Claire and Steve can be together.
