My staffy was stolen last august in a blue handpainted btansit van, as were 7 others than day, according to the RSPCA. He vanished and has never been seen since. I did the poster and newspaper thing to no avail and the police were not forthcoming with any help. APparently to confirm the dog was stolen rather than lost, you need evidence to this or need to have seen it stolen. If that is the case then surely if you are burgled you haven't been burgled unless you have seen the burgler entering and leaving your house. I presented this evidence and was not given a crime number and although buster was taken on Saturday morning a visit was not made until 3.30 early hours of Tuesday morning. The evidence I had collected was heresay so nothing could be done. I have spoken to hundreds of people who have similar cases and who have received no help from the police what so ever. I even phoned the police to tell them I was following the van and was told to go home as if I got myself into a situation with the occupants no policemen could get to me. So they could have beat me to death and no police would have come. Please sign this petition if you are less than satisfied with police involvement with your stolen pets, so it can be presented to the police complaints committee. The crime rates would probably soar if all these stolen dogs be given crime numbers but they are stolen non the less and something needs desperately doing about the apathy from the police forces around our country.

I am currently trying to get help from Police for my dog who was taken and I called them to the house of the people who took her and the officer made me leave without my dog. They said I had to prove she was my dog when it is convenate with the lady who took her. Where are the laws to protect us who own the pet, who has taken care of it for 10 years. This saddnes me so.

Its rediclious what a carry on. People who do this sort of thing are evil and are capeable of other calous acts. To aniaml lovers it is devastating, almost as bad as having your child kidnapped. The law should get a grip.
