People Magazine should be a shamed of themselves for this article praising this young man for profiting on the lives of living Creatures. He is helping the Puppy Millers and Careless Back yard breeders to grow for greed of Money. The Kill Shelters are over flowing, The piles of Dead bodies of Helpless Animals is growing and the Rescue workers can't keep up to these types of people. This boys website only fools some people. No Good Reputable Breeder would ever let their puppies be placed like this!! It is a shame the popular Peoples Magazine didn't have the smarts to say no to this boy being in the Artical. Shame, Shame , Shame!!! This looks very bad for this Magazines reputation. This Boy and People Magazine should be made to go visit the Kill Shelters and watch the puppies and dogs being put to sleep and thrown out in the Garbage and Talk to the News Agencies that have footage of Puppy Mill Raids and see the conditions the Breeding Parents live in and their Sores and their Pain , then know that you gave alot more people the Idea of Making Money from the lives of Living Helpless Animals. I am in Shock!!!

This is pathetic! To give accolades to a young man who is brokering dog from horrendous breeders to people with no screening of suitability is just horrendous. If he sells his sister into slavery, will you think that is ingenious as well?

Buying and selling dogs on the internet is wrong and another way to increase the numbers of dogs that will end up in shelters or be euthanized. If this "Teen Titan" was working to place shelter dogs in loving homes rather than being in it for the money, he would be my hero. He needs to understand that random breeding of dogs for sale is wrong. Puppy mills produce dogs with health problems and personality problems and should be closed down. Breeding should be left to responsible breeders who care about placing puppies in good homes and keeping them out of the shelters.

Sue Storms said 11/02/04, 5:57 pm (verified)
Has this "Teen Titon" ever seen the places his "dogs for sale" come from? This article has set back the hard work that so many of us do to educate people on puppy mills, buying dogs from stores, internet, etc. PLEASE consider what this article has done and allow the other side to have their say. I would love for my rescue work to become non-existent, but when this kind of story is published, it only confirms that it is a constant uphill battle.

I am appalled and amazed that People Magazine would print an article such as this and give advertisement space to a creature such as this child. All he is doing is creating more animals to be dumped at our already overextended Animal Controls around the US. These pups should be spayed or neutered before placing so they don't procreate and make more poor pathetic creatures that will need to be euthanized because there is no one there to take advantage of them for the almighty dollar.

I am appalled that People would print an article that encourages irresponsible breeding of animals, when so many people already abandon pets because they are poorly bred and carry major health problems. Do you suppose for one minute that this 16 year old boy has the knowledge to properly test and screen his dogs for health problems? Or the money to do so? No. Instead these puppy are being irresponsibly bred, and sold to whoever will pony up the cash. No screening to make sure the home is a good one, or that they are not being sold to other puppy mills, or to underground ringleaders of dog fighting as "bait". I'm am completely disgusted, and will NOT be purchasing People magazine again. And will ask my family and friends to do the same.

This article disgusts me....and the thought of what happens to these poor little innocent babies disgusts me. This "business" is no more than another way to exploit these babies, that cannot speak for themselves, and the bottom line, as with puppy mills, is MONEY, MONEY, MONEY. I read People Magazine faithfully and could not believe it when I read this article, and that they would feel this was a "rewarding business". As a rescue person, I have seen the outcome of disgusting people that "sell" these babies, and the outcome is normally not good. These people are living a good life, and these animals are suffering...and please don't tell me that "every dog goes to a good home"....I know better.

Should they be put to sleep just because they are unadoptable due to sensory deprivation or should I continue to work with them and try and help them live normal lives? To me there is NO question in my mind. The dogs come first and it is sickening to see what comes out of the mills. People magazine can help educate the public and help stop the mills supplying pet stores and brokers across the nation. These are our faithful companions that the mills exploit. People Magazine, please help stop the cruelty.

I think publicizing this story will simply encourage other puppymill operators to find their own "child entrepreneur" spokesman so they can make more money by selling their own puppies over the internet and skip their middleman, pet shops. Buying a puppy over the internet, sight unseen, is just purchasing heartache. If this is somebody's idea of a "feel good" article, it is not. Other suggestions for an article: A feature exposing the daily living conditions of the parents of these cuddlypuppies; a commentary on dogs born blind, epileptic, with hip dysplasia, or other more painful genetic problems common to their breed, but which could be prevented by utilizing proper and available medical testing procedures, and, by NOT breeding those dogs who are carriers of the genes; an item on the many stars and beautiful people who have rescued dogs from shelters; or, perhaps a column recounting the story of a young person who makes news by doing his part to fix a social ill, such as educating the public on proper and responsible pet ownership and rehabilitating shelter dogs. I was a very, very long-time subscriber to People Magazine, but those days are now over for me.

This is disgusting, that a mother would let her child sell these animals for profit. Are these puppies ever taken to the vet, up to date on shots, socialized, etc. I would assume the answer to all of those questions in no, because money is usually the only concern. In todays society when rescues bust their butts spends long hours taking care of animals, and tring to save as many as they can and find them all loving homes, it is scary to think that a magizine would actually publish an article like this. Why not do an artical on some rescues that actually help these animals, and actually care. This child needs to be taught that animals are more than something you make money with. I will NEVER buy this magaxine again and will encourage all friends and family not to either, unless this is stopped.
