Please don't encourage the breeding of improperly cared for and researched pets of any kind. This is cruel and not in the best interest of the poor animal. ADOPT ONE THAT IS ALREADY HERE !!!!
At least present balanced coverage on the downside of this time of venture.
Please think through the results this might have.
Thank you - Kathy Derby
I wish People Magazine would have given some thought to the impact that article might have on the poor dogs in that. Their plight may have been made much worse by making it seem like that is a great business.
I don't know who is more irresponsible -- the teen "breeder" or People magazine for applauding such a business. Puppies are not a throwaway item and shame on you for promoting such a scheme.
There is very little thought that goes into the breeding of many of these dogs. The unsuspecting public purchase this pet with unknown genetic defects.
The editors of this magazine should educate themselves about the horrific conditions found in puppy mills and the extreme suffering these animals go through. An article about rescue groups and the importance of spay/neuter programs would be much more useful.
I think the article was written in poor taste. Not that teen entrepreneurs don't deserve recognition for waht they have accomplished, BUT not when it is based soley on making money at the expense of a dog's uterus!. These people have no idea what breeding healthy quality dogs are about. If you turley want to pat a teen on the back, pick one who has busted his butt working 2 hard jobs to put himself thru college to help further his own education.!!
I am surprised that none of the editors at People magazine are "animal people" and realize the ramifications of an article that promotes the buying and selling of puppies over the Internet. Take a look at the kill rate in shelters in your area. Most of these poor animals are from businesses like the cuddlypuppy.com. I will never buy your magazine again!!!!!!
Please correct your inappropriate approval of puppy mill "entrepreneurship by publishing an article on the rescue efforts of tha thousands of dog rescues around the country and the harm that puppy mills do the various breeds.
I cannot believe you printed this, much less actually lauded it!!!! What were you peple thinking??? This isn't enterprise, it's cruelty and irresponsibility.
How can anyone condone this type of behaviour, this child should be made to work with rescue groups for a couple of weeks to see what the other side looks like and the suffering people like him cause. we will never buy People again, shame on you for such a disgusting article.
Come on People magazine! Are your researchers really so ignorant? It's great for a kid to try to make their own way in the world. If the young man did his research, saw the horrific conditions most of these dogs came from, and still is willing to make money from it... People Magazine should not applaud that kind of judgement.
They encourage you to spay/nueter your dog so that they may produce "hybrids" without concern to the health problems of each breed they are probably introducing into these pups. I say "Buyer Beware".
I was not happy to hear of your article entitled "Teen Titans" which encourages irresponsible breeding of pet puppies. Please consider researching responsible dog breeding versus puppy mills for a future article.
I'm disgusted that a reputable magazine like the People would even think of publicising what can only be described as 'money making at the expense of some poor animals'. I shall never read nor buy your paper again!
I adopeted a dog from one of these puppy mills...a left over "runt'" I guess you would say...this dog had so many heatlh problems it only lived to be 7 months old. My family and I were heartbroken when the dog died...I cannot believe this mag. would be so heartless!
Lauding those who sell puppies only for money, with no thought for their health or welfare, is completely irresponsible. By doing so your magazine is promoting a "business" that is bad for the dogs, and bad for consumers.
This is absolutely disgusting!!! With all the problems this country has with abuse of pets and puppymills, I can't believe PEOPLE Magazine would condone such a thing!!!
There goes my subscription!!!
What do teenagers know about whelping puppies? What if the mother needs a c-section? what if she can't nurse? Is that teen going to feed the puppies ever 2 hours? Will they let them die? These are God's creatures!!! These aren't robots. They live and breathe and have problems and hurt! It is appalling that this is lauded by your magazine. This is mindless. Do not encourage breeding without care and responsibility to the breed.
Nice going People Magazine. Not only have you glorified this puppy broker but you've now promoted this idea to someone else who is equally uneducated in health and breeding to the standard because they are motivated by the dollar with no care to the breed.
Very poor and tasteless article for the general public. This is nothing but a puppymill on the internet and should have had a write-up to close them down.
Nothing like corrupting children so young and they think it is just fine go to school and learn about what they are doing you all can't be that dense you do run a successful magazine
I can not believe that in this day in age People would print an article which basically promotes puppymills. That child, his mother, and the author should be made to volunteer in a shelter for a week and see if they still think what they are doing is so wonderful. Bill Gates this kid is not. He helps the under privilidged. This kid does quite the opposite!
How can a national magazine, theoretically edited by educated, intelligent people, condone such a dreadful practice. Did I say condone? People Magazine didn't just condone it, they *applauded* it. Appalling.
What's really disgusting is how many people are going to think this is a great idea and try doing it themselves. People Magazine is promoting the eventual suffering and death of animals by publishing this story! DISGUSTING!
I was really disappointed to read this article. Encouraging puppymills is the last thing that this nation needs. Someone really messed up with this article, and someone really needs to fix this problem.
I am surprised that People Mag. would approve of such an atrocity. Puppy Mills in general do enough harm without the help of such a widely known magazine. They should be encouraging people to seek out reputable breeders, not putting money in the pockets of puppymillers. Shame on you, People Magazine. I will seriously reconsider my subscription.
This is an outrage!! I can not believe that People magazine would be so careless! I will NEVER buy this Magazine again!! (I buy it every month) and I will make sure none of my family or friends do either. My mother has a subscrition that I'm sure she WILL cancel after this!
Since when has some that runs a puppy mill been considered an entrepreneur? Please do not encourage puppymills. I have always enjoyed People magazine and never expected to see such an irresponsible article in your magazine. I hope to see something on rescue or responsible breeding in the future.
Please print an article in your magazine about (dog) breed rescue groups and other rescue organizations that help dogs rather than about "entrepreneurs" who are selling puppies for profit. Thank you!
Being involved with a dog rescue organization, I see first-hand the results of these horrible puppy mills. I can't believe PEOPLE magazine would write a positive article about anyone involved in this horrible occupation. Anyone that makes money off the suffering of these poor tortured dogs should not be given good publicty.
The authors of this article should educate themselves on puppy mills and the pitiful life those dogs live. This boy is only adding to an already huge problem of pets being treated simply as property. If People Magazine does not do an article on rescues and puppy mills, they can forget about me ever buying another copy of their magazine.
Instead of promoting such trash, these magazines should be promoting responsible owners and those who rescue these poor puppies that never asked to be brought into this world. Then they get sold over the internet to people who think they are cute and have no idea what the breed characteristics entail. SHAME ON YOU!
There are too many puppies in shelters that have been abandoned and abused.Puppy mills are a disgrace and it should be against the law.Take a trip to your local shelter and see where the product of puppy mills show up,beaten battered and sick. This kid could promote adopting shelter dogs and kittens and give them a chance.
There are so many things wrong with this practice that it is hard to list them all. Your promotion of this thoughtless enterprise is reprehensible.

From a small rescuer desperately trying to save lives destined to be extinguished at shelters due to overpopulation, I am begging that People Magazine, with their wide readership, be willing to write and print another article highlighting the horrific euthanasia rate at shelters across the country. Puppymills and backyard breeders are contribute to this problem to a great proportion.
Thank you.
Shame on People. They are obviously ignorant about puppy mills. I hope the People staff will now investigate the mills all over Oklahoma and Missouri and other states and do an expose.
Breeding puppies for sale by an uneducated, unqualified person is awful. Who follows up on the puppies? What if they don't fit in with the family? Are they breeding the ***** too often? Do they test for disease? Worm and give puppies shots? AWFUL! Raise fish.
I was ashamed to read the sland on People Magazine article not calling this boy a puppymiller or puppybroker as this is a slant to make what he is doing sound very good.
He is not serving any breed or any dog by his actions. I think People needs to reprint this articl from ethical standpoint and rethink what they are saying about him.
Disgrace comes to all ages.

Disgusting article! Titan? No Way, just an easy way for this kid and his mom to raise money off the backs of living breathing souls. Is People magazine aware how many dogs DIE every day in shelters? Do your research People, this is not an entrepeneur, it is a money hungry family!
Covering this boy'sparticular entrpenurial choice was ill-advised, and it reflects badly on the research/knowledge of your staff. I certainly hope you will talk with people who involve themselves in the necessary rwscue of dogs from puppymills and their dissatisfied owners, and do an article on the truth of this business.
You should think about what you are printing a little more closely. I find this article in bad taste. Do you even realize what a puppy mill dog goes through. Shame on you! Your magazine is really starting to question a lot of people as to what you print just for money.
I think this article is the so discussing. Why don't you do something on people who breed dogs for the standard not the all might dollar. If you want to do an article on Teenagers building a bussiness do it on something that is worthy of news print not something that is harming our breeds and their standards.
Why romanticize a child selling puppies over the internet? Why encourage someone else to do the same? What about puppies in rescue? What can be said about the health and temperment of these dogs? Your position in this matter is absurd. Why not feature a student who is doing something for society?
