It has come to our attention today that House bill HB1368 is pending for a vote. The bill will limit play on athletic fields (soccer fields)surrounded by houses during the hours before 8:00 a.m. and after 6:00p.m. and all day on Sundays.

Passage of this bill has the potential to limit not only Commonwealth Soccer League play, but your children's Travel League play and most if not all tournaments. Hotspurs Park, Cosner Prak, Loriella Park and Pratt Park as well as a high percentage of other soccer fields are adjacent to homes.

The legislation appears to allow one homeowner a virtual veto power over the use of athletic fields (and swimming pools!) on Sundays and in the evenings irrespective of whether the use of the facility is noisy. If one homeowner says "No," nobody can play.
