EPA writes "Every year, thousands upon thousands of wild animals are trapped from Africa, Asia and South America, destined for illegal pet markets in the UK. It’s happening now…but we can all make a difference and put a stop to it.

It’s common to see caged birds in pet shops and gardens centres in poor conditions but pet markets are a much bigger problem – and unless we act now, a crisis of monumental proportions awaits. The government, rather than initiating a crackdown, plans instead to legalise pet markets through the proposed Animal Welfare Bill".
