This is not a real religion, they DO NOT deserve tax free status. I would say the same thing about various evangelists exploiting their followers, but they are christian evangelists. Scientology does not fall into this church category, or any church category for that matter, and I think it is clear they used their large bankroll and influenced the right people to gain this status in the first place. PLEASE take an indepth look at this organization, IRS!!!!

All religions should have their tax exempt status removed as beliefs should never be organised. Accusing the scientologist religion of being crazy is hypocracy of the worst kind when you have so many open contradictions in the bible. I just wish that everyone would think for themselves and see all organised religion for what it is - intolerance packaged for the masses.

This is not a church. They are some sort of bizzaro group of scientists gone wrong. Since they have a church can I make one up that involves my entire family, thus eliminating any form of taxation??? Probably not, so why do we allow these freaks this luxury?
I believe people are being coerced into this cult and I pray everyday for those influenced by the celebrity and fame it has developed over the past few decades, that they may realize the Truth, and know.
I was once a member of Scientology and now I'm a devout Christian. My opinion is that they do have great classes that teach many aspects of humanity. However, they are more of a school and NOT a church. Church is a place of worship and to demonstrate our love for God and His Son, Jesus Christ. We worship the spiritual God...NOT man.
This whole organization is NOT religious in any of its pricipals or activities. Its a self help scam that requires huge financial contributions to participate. It is a book and seminar centre where desperate people go to get ripped off. L.Ron Hubbard has written some of the most Nazi-like materials I have ever seen. His views on people who do not believe could be dangerous.

When we begin to allow cults tax-exempt status, we open the flood gates. While I have little doubt the cult has no passion except money, the do attract great lawyers.
