Scientology is no more a religeon than any other cult. The fact that it can afford lawyers should not elevate it above any other condemned and ignored cult. Celebrity members do not lead to something becoming a religeon.

One of them, Tom Davis, who is high up in the organization and is a very close friend of Tom Cruise, spent over 24 thousand dollars on one occasion for sportswear, suites and shoes, suits...
It is completely rediculous that this farce of a religion is given any weight. It is by every definition a cult and no more a religion than harry potter.
Scientology definitely profits from its (usually) filthy rich followers and therefore should not have exemption status. However, I also feel that any religion vying for political influence (*cough* Christianity *cough*) should be forced to pay taxes as well.
My family is in scientology and it has broken us apart. My mother lives in Florida and is in the Sea Org. She makes $47 a week at her meaningless job. I want Scientology over and done with so my family can get back together.
