I, the undersigned, urge the United States Treasury Department to cancel the tax-exempt status currently extended to The Church of Scientology and its affiliated organizations under Section 501(c) of the U.S. Treasury Code.
By repeatedly and continuously showing signs of being a cult, The Church of Scientology has demonstrated that it is incapable of conducting itself in a manner expected of nonprofit groups receiving federal tax subsidies.
The only "Church" to have its texts copywritten, and the organization guilty of the largest case of domestic espionage in the history of the United States (against the US Government). And this is considered a church? End them.
What can you say about a "religion" founded by a science fiction writer who said "the only way to really make money is to create a religion" and then did just that... DUH... I worked for top scientology "church" members for years. I can tell you first hand this is no church. This is big business and should pay their fare share of taxes just like every other business, and be held to the same standards of fiscal accountability. Please overturn the tax exempt status that was given them in error.

This cult is dangerous by nature of it's unscientific approach to modern psychological and medical care, is based on a farce, regularly harasses anyone who disagrees with it's stand, and uses typical cult methodologies to brainwash potential members. Celebrities who choose to endorse it leverage their public stature to help brainwash others, Tom Cruise being just one.
