i find it sad that cults like this get tax exemption
and notoriaty
yet the oldest religion in the world paganism
is frowned upon by the establishment
we call our government.
Try getting off of their mailing lists!! My husband naively attended a couple courses ten years ago and he STILL gets at least one piece of mail a day from these scamsters.
L. Ron Hubbard is a greedy, charismatic, cult leader. The fact that Tom Cruise has joined his legions (and done so with such idiocy) is amazing. If Katrina victims have to pay taxes, so does this big lout and his organization of stupidity.
Almost any organization can be regarded as a religion if one believes it to be and people are free to worship whatever they please. But that doesn't mean the American Taxpayor is obligated to support these religions financially. This supposed religion appears to be peopled by those who are extremely rich, leading me to believe that it is nothing more than a glorified tax shelter. If a Tom Cruise (worth $450 million) or a Kirsty Ally, Greta Van Sustern, etc choose to worship at the golden alter of the Church of Scientology they are free to do so. They are also rich enough that they do not need their "church" to be tax exempt. They can well afford to support a tax paying organization that was formed by a man (L Ron Hubbard) who admits that his reason for forming this "church" was to become rich. More power to his decendents but not with my tax money.
