This organization is a cult based fraud. Its founder L. Ron Hubbard was primarily influenced by Gnostic writings, and the philosophies of satanic leader Aleister Crowley. Given Scientology's position against psychiatric medication - it is somewhat ironic to note that Hubbard died on a California ranch with toxic levels of the psychiatric drug Vistaril in his body. Apparently the sailor couldn't get a good night's sleep. Where was Narconon - the so called detox organization? Scientology's main premise of origin is equally hilarious. Xenu an alien warlord came to earth 75 million years ago and chained humans to exploding volcanoes. Enough said. By this theology the religion by its own admission self destructs. The dates of these so called events defy both the theory of evolution, and the theory of creation. Thus it retrieves a contraband reception from both scientific and religious communities. Scientology is a “progressive” religion where one transcends through knowledge, as long as he or she has a reliable bank account. This in and of itself is an abomination. No true religion requires such cryptic steps. The most fascinating aspect of this religion is that it utilizes so-called trademark violations as an item to garner lawsuits against all naysayers. This exposes Scientology's cowardly heredity and its fortunate nervousness. Scientologists also have a facility called the Celebrity Centre. What kind of church has a center devoted solely to celebrities? The answer is none. For these reasons, among many - this organization should not be considered a church. It is nothing more than a rotary club for the mentally challenged. The Church of Scientology should have its tax exempt status removed immediately by a mandate of the citizens of the United States of America. Consider it.
If a "church" is to have tax-free status, it ought to be fully open to the public - in all aspects. This "church" will not allow an unannounced visitor to a "service"...and its existence is harming good cities like that of Clearwater Flordia, where they continue to buy historic properties under a tax free ruse.
I think all churches should pay taxes. The Bible tells them to "rend unto Ceasar what is Ceasar's" So let them start rending. Scientology is a brainwashing cult not a religion, anyway.
What a joke. Not that any other, more established religions are much different, but these bastards are getting rich on their fraud and not paying taxes. At least tax them.
There is no reason that Scientology should be tax-free. If I created my own "religion", does this mean I can be tax-free? If that is all it takes to be tax-free, then what is the point?

Scientology is absolutely NOT a nonprofit orginization! Religion?!?! Yeah right! Maybe I will invent my own religion and talk a famous idoit into promoting it.
Tax exemption should be allowed for institutions which are non-profit agencies. Looking at the many money making schemes within Scientology, this should be treated as a regular business not a non-profit. It may be a better turn for their business to go public instead of tax exempt. More money for Tom!!!
Scientology is the reason why my life is ruined... they are a cult, they do commit heinous crimes against decent citizens, and they should be shut down.
