I, the undersigned, urge the United States Treasury Department to cancel the tax-exempt status currently extended to The Church of Scientology and its affiliated organizations under Section 501(c) of the U.S. Treasury Code.
By repeatedly and continuously showing signs of being a cult, The Church of Scientology has demonstrated that it is incapable of conducting itself in a manner expected of nonprofit groups receiving federal tax subsidies.
Thsi obviously isn't going to happen. At current rate, it will take aorund 4 more years to get the signatures needed for this to work. Help spread the word people! Remove the tax exempt status from Scientologists now!
The reason most religions recieve tax-exempt staus is b/c they help serve the public. Soup Kitchens, homeless shelters, hospitals, etc. While the concept of a scientology hospital scares me, they donate nothing to the community - and therefore should have their exempt status removed.

Hubbard was quoted as saying"if you really want to make money, start a religion", however this crap did not begin as a religion ,but as a challenging competitor to psychoanalysis. Analyze tne name: Scientology Trans: A scientific approach to psychology.They only claimed to be a religion to avoid taxation on the exorbitat sums of money they were extorting from their victims.To be a religion it should have been named Scientanity or Scientism. These people are of two types.1. greedy evil manipulators and 2. Ignorant and naive suckers.
Hubbard built a business not a church. when they saw they could be tax exempt they threw collars on a few people, said a prayer and became a "religion". It's all in the begin that the true intentions of this cult can be found.

What a shame that intelligent people can get sucked in to a scam like this. The material items purchased by their wealth cannot fill the void in their lives - so they are willing to buy an idea that they think will give meaning to the choices they make. So twisted.. false teachers following a pack of lies, first written as a personal philosophy of L. Ron, who then morphed these ideas in to a "religion". Not even the worst sci-fi novel could have had a storyline that would have included the mess this mockery has made in so many people's lives. One can only hope that "Hollywood" won't negatively influence the innocent, who are still searching for what the real meaning of life is.

The Churh of Scientology should be investigated by the IRS. It is the responsibility of the IRS to investigate questionable entities that may be violating U.S. tax code procedures.
Remove tax-exempt status from the Scientology cult. nd furthermore, all "religious" organizations that take any kind of political stand should lose tax exemption, too. This is still a secular government - any attempt by religious organizations to use the force of law to further their goals should be taxed at the same rate as those who fight to oppose them.
