Signatures #2900 through #3000 for the Petition to have The Church of Scientology tax-exe... petition
Barbier Jean-Luc said 10/20/05, 9:37 pm (verified)
The church of Scientology imposes strong quantities of niacine and vitamin. This illegal medicine caused me serious ignitions and destroyed it my larynx. The scientology refuses to admit its errors on my subject. Moreover I had to wait more than 10 years to be refunded. The lawyer and court expenses are remained with my load! This church removed me the desire to support your country. If one wants to give to the world lessons of democracy, and of the lessons for the respect of the humans right, one should not have sharks in its hands. It is a shame.

There is no way an organization like this should be a tax exempt entity. It is a for profit business and has done nothing with the member contributions to benefit society. Member donations are tax deductible so the federal government is losing lots of money from tax income.

Giving this cult tax exempt status is akin to giving David Koresh's followers tax exempt status in the early 90's. If they aren't paying taxes, why the hell am I?

I, the undersigned, urge the United States Treasury Department to cancel the tax-exempt status currently extended to The Church of Scientology and its affiliated organizations under Section 501(c) of the U.S. Treasury Code. By repeatedly and continuously showing signs of being a cult, The Church of Scientology has demonstrated that it is incapable of conducting itself in a manner expected of nonprofit groups receiving federal tax subsidies.

Scientology was never created to be a church, just a lifeguide by Hubbard. This is a perversion of his ideas. If Scientology is a religion, then extend the same status to Jedi, FSM, and voodooo/hoodoo.
