It is offensive that this cult should be called a "church" and given all privledges of such an institution. They are scamming the American people and by having tax exempt status they are scamming the US government! As leaders of our nation, the gov't should know better than to support a cult in such a manner!

I've always understood that tax-exemption for religions was based on what they gave back to the community...Scientology, has given nothing back. Instead it deceives and swindles individuals to give up their money, and then swindles the government into keeping all of it.

Maybe they are doing good for poeple in need, but they can't have an tax-exemption, cause it goes in a wrong way of the way of their church, because it's not egal for everyone, so we can't let them say things they just don't do. They are making money on everyone, so we must stop them. I believe The Church of Scientology is a cult and not a religion, because of this, the Internal Revenue Service should cancel their current tax-exempt status. They should not enjoy tax-exempt status similar to that of other religions, houses of worship, and legitimate social service and educational organizations.

Scientology threatened my family because my father found transcripts containing evidence of murder and many other crmes that Scientologists had commited. This was while he was a federal officer but they still tried to harm him and our family.They are a very real and dangerous CULT!
