the fact that someone can make up a religion and be exempt from taxes is ridiculous. there is no way that scientology is a religion, it is just a stupid cult that people made up to get attention
Scientology is, with all logic and evidence, a scam which ruins people's lives. A just religion should not be based off of ripping every cent its followers own and silencing their critics brutally.
The federal government/judiciary has the authority and the duty to distinguish between legitimate spiritual organizations and cults. Scientology meets all criteria for the latter, and should be treated as such.

I fully support this petition, and while the freedom of religion is an essential american right, I feel that the so called church of scientology is a religious fraud, asking its members, and promoting to its members to purchase its books, and buy its emmagram readings. Nothing with this group is free, and it's making billions of dollars every year, likely lobbying its cause with our government to establish itself as a "church" when in fact it doesn't care about its members connection with a religious higher being, rather its connection with its members wallet.
