Scientology = Science fiction. Members of this "church" are also responsible for the inhumane death of Lisa McPhearson. just check here www.lisamcpherson.org/ Scientology should not be allowed to exist.
I'm just sorry they thought of it before me. L. Ron was a terrible science fiction writer how'd he ever get these yahoos to start following his religion.
I am an ex member. All but the basic services (courses) must be paid for if you are to advance “spiritually.” They call them donations. They are fees, not donations as they are compulsory. This, on it’s own makes it invalid as a religion. Tax free status for them is a joke. They think that ex members and others are too scared to speak up as they sue them and tie them up in court till they are broke and can no longer speak. But instead, the “righteous noise” against them is increasing daily. A critical mass will result in their tax free status falling like dominoes accross the world which will be the beginning of the end for this mega scam. Bring on that day!
Scientology is a scam people need to know the true harms of Scientology. Scientology is evil. They are criminals and they need to be expsoed. L.Ron Hubbard had psychiatric medication in his bloodstream called Vistiral. IMHO
$cientology IS NOT a religion. Even L.Ron said so himself on many occasions in diff books, etc. It's one now for "tax purposes" only. I should know, I was involved with the kult for almost 30 yrs. However it may have started, it is now a con and a $cam and they DO NOT deliver what they promise - which was one of l ron's main policies, supposedly. Along with "keeping friendly relations with the environment," which O$A is in charge of these days Trust me, as one who was fooled for a long time, it's NOT a religion and they do not deserve tax exempt status. The human rights abuses these guys (the ones in charge) engage in with their own membership is beyond description. Most people would not believe the stories. Oh and the higher you go the worst it gets: The people most victimized are their so called "elite," the $ea Organization. Women are encourgaed to get abortions, children are neglected in crowded filthy nurseries and are taken care of a lot of the time by other "cadets" in their teens or pre-teens. And if you mess up you go in the RPF (Rehabilitation Project Force) or the RPF's RPF in which conditions are similar to russian gulags or german concentration camps. So my answer is NO! Take away their tax exempt status - they're run more like a business anyways; a self-improvement center at best. Of course, it's all about the money and keeping the show going: Make it go right, as they say. But check these sites out for more:

In the name of that is holy and gracefull I sign this petition to abolish this false religion that seperates men and women into a group of broke lunatics.
because scientology is not a religion, a religion though having a few rules gives choice whether or not to abide by them, where as scinetology simply takes away human rights. Many have been taken in by this so called church and not allowed to leave. A church asks if you could but donate, it doesnt demand it. Bank accounts have been drained and people have been threatened, gone missing or had "accidents" Not only should they be forced to pay tax with the money they havent earned, further investigation really needs to be done on this community of theives and torturers. Not enough is being done. And I would have thought that was obvious by now.
The IRS has made a grave error in declaring this organization to be worry of tax exempt status when this organization survives by extorting money out of its lost participants. Look to other countries who realize that this organization is not worry of being called a 'religion'.
