Scientology is a cult created for the sole purpose of enriching those in positions of power at the expense of impressionable youth. It uses the vulnerability of those in drug/prison rehabilitation programs to grow its ranks and to line its pockets. It it most definitely not a non-profit, and it is not a religion. They should be not only taxed, but raided by the government, and the leaders tried for fraud, extortion, obstruction of justice, rape by imposition of authority, and other heinous crimes they have committed.
I've heard about project chanology on encyclopedia dramatica. I'm an anon,so I thought,sure. I'll go to the IRL raid. Raids are fun. At first,I didn't know much about scientology,except for the xenu story and that scientologists are pretty much batshit insane. But the chanology project made me curious,and I learned more about scientology. It's a cult. it's a cult just like the Raelian cult in france. I know a lot about cults,and scientology definitively is one,and they must be stopped. I can't wait until the 10th of february to see what'll happen. There might even be some celebrities comming to the raid where I live,it's going to be badass.
The Church of Scientology has clearly demonstrated it's disregard for the well being of it's followers and of those around it. With ideology suitable for early dark-age religious zealotry, they have again and again posed a serious threat to their followers and the world around them.
Scientology is a fun subject to make fun of, but it is also a dangerous, religious cult that has claimed the lives of many people, in search of some emotional support. It must be opposed, and it must be stopped by any means.
The Church of Scientology makes massive amounts of money from its brainwashed members for its services. This means that it is effectively a corporation, not a religion, and should not have tax-exemption status.
For the unforgivable treatment I received while attending a private school who's staff and students were all Scientologist's. At 800 a month, I deserved to stay and earn a good education without being forced to join your cult.
